Sutton Foster reveals why she chose to play Lisa on Younger

Sutton Foster opened up about why she decided to become a part of the show in a 2021 interview with Entertainment Weekly. The actress revealed she could connect with Liza’s character as a woman who was trying to reinvent herself:

“I read the script and immediately was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I think I might be able to pull this off.’ It was sort of an extreme concept, but I was kind of falling between the cracks a little bit, age-wise. I was still reading young, I was 39. I thought maybe I could pull this off.”
“I could hear myself saying the lines, and I liked that it was about a woman reinventing herself. I felt like I was doing that at the same time because I was in L.A. It felt like the right fit. I auditioned and was really going for it. I really wanted this job.”

Apart from Foster, Younger also stars Debi Mazar as Maggie Amato, Nico Tortorella as Josh, Miriam Shor as Diana Trout, Hilary Duff as Kelsey Peters, Peter Hermann as Charles Brooks, Charles Michael Davis as Zane Anders, Molly Bernard as Lauren Heller, and Tessa Albertson as Caitlin Miller.

All seasons of Younger are streaming on Paramount+ and Netflix.
