Jess Gabor's career and notable projects

As mentioned previously, Jess Gabor, a 28-year-old actress from California, plays the role of Janet in School Spirits. She has been a new addition to the cast in season 2, and her performance has already gained attention.

As reported by Authority Magazine, Gabor’s acting career started because of her mother, who worked at Disney and would always make her daughter an extra in the films she worked on.

Gabor has previously studied at the Moscow Art Theater and Loyola Marymount University. After studying abroad, she had the opportunity to feature in theatrical productions like Timberlake Wertenbaker’s Our Country Is Good and Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters.

However, she gained popularity from her role in Shameless. Playing Kelly Keefe, she had appeared in 14 episodes of the Showtime series. Throughout seasons 9 and 10, she had shared screen space with Cameron Monaghan and Jeremy Allen White.

Regarding her experience of working in Shameless, in an interview with Authority Magazine, Gabor mentioned,

"I have to say that on ‘Shameless’, every actor is so incredible to watch and act with. Everyone always brings their A game not because it is what is expected of them but because they can’t help but do their best."

She also highlighted her experience of working with William H. Macy, saying,

"Specifically, I have gotten the pleasure and privilege of acting alongside William H. Macy. Bill directed my first episode. In one scene, I had to play drunk. Bill is the king of acting intoxicated, so he came up to me and gave me a few pointers on the most realistic way to 'be' drunk. That may have been the best acting class I have ever gone to!"

Besides Shameless, Gabor has also featured in projects like Confessional, Criminal Minds, and Grey's Anatomy. She has also done a lot of theater, including Steven Soderbergh’s The Fears.

What happened to Janet in School Spirits?

Gabor’s Janet is supposed to have died in the chemistry lab fire that also killed Mr. Martin in the high school. She is revealed to be the one possessing Maddie’s body. While it was initially thought that Maddie had died, the inability to locate her body led to suspicion, and in an attempt to find out how she died, Maddie finally discovered that she was not dead and rather possessed by Janet.

Janet was thought to have crossed over, but she evidently did not, and after hitting Maddie in the boiler room, she entered her body and left. It remains to be seen what Janet’s character now does after everyone has come to know the truth.
