Proving nobody is safe, Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 killed another main character after John Dutton and Sarah. Richards' Colby is the one to take the fall this time after his character died in Episode 12, "Counting Coup."
This was shocking for all the fans of the show as his death was very sudden. Colby died helping Carter (Finn Little) tame a bucking horse but was brutally kicked and fatally struck by the animal.
Fans were excited to see more of his budding romance with Teeter (Jennifer Landon). But it was cut short in the show's latest episode because of his sudden and untimely death.
The actor has been an essential part of the show's cast and enjoyed filming for the show. Yellowstone returned after a much-awaited hiatus, and seeing your character die just a few episodes before the finale is not a pretty sight, but Richards embraced it fully and gave his best:

He added,
"I took my boots and I took my hat. I think I left my chaps or maybe I took them. The only thing I didn't take was my horse. That's because I don't own the horse.''
While fans bid Colby goodbye in the latest episode, the emotions his death will bring to the surviving characters are yet to be seen.
