The highly-anticipated Yellowstone spin-off drama 1923 premiered on February 23, 2025, with its second season and social media is already flooding with posts and reactions from fans. Indiana Jones icon Harrison Ford is leading the cast alongside co-star Helen Mirren.
The duo has portrayed the two main pillars of the Dutton family - Jacob and Cara Dutton respectively. With war brewing, harsh long winters ahead, and other natural hindrances rising in number, the Duttons (known to be the most famous and the largest ranch owners in Montana, USA since the Yellowstone saga) stand in a precarious position - especially with a background of the Great Depression.
Two other major characters from 1923 are Spencer Dutton, James and Margaret Dutton's younger son (portrayed by Brandon Sklenar), and Alexandra (played by Julia Schlaepfer), his love interest cum a British upper-class woman from Sussex. Not only does Julia's contribution to the Yellowstone spin-off deserve praise, but also her involvement in other projects (like Madam Secretary, American Horror Stories, and The Politician) is worth the mention.
Who plays Alexandra in 1923 Season 2?
Julia Schlaepfer played the role of Alexandra in 1923, a British woman hailing from an aristocratic clan in Sussex, England. Her initial encounter with Spencer in Kenya, Africa develops romantic feelings for both sides which soon changes into true and unmovable love.
Julia Schlaepfer, the 29-year-old American actress, has recently gained quite some popularity among fans owing to her Taylor Sheridan spin-off role. She is also known to have made a notable contribution to Ryan Murphy's comedy-drama series on Netflix, The Politician (2019). She played the character, Alice Charles, in the Netflix drama which garnered quite some recognition for her in the industry.
Back in 2017, Juila was also associated with Barbara Hall's famous political thriller titled Madam Secretary - a CBS show with Morgan Freeman as executive producer alongside Lori McCreary. CBS' police procedural Instinct is another project where Julia Schlaepfer was featured in some of the episodes.
Moreover, the FX Network horror anthology titled American Horror Stories is another notable project where Julia made her presence felt. Julia Schlaepfer has also been involved with the movie named Charlie Says which is a 2018 biographical drama.
Here, she portrayed the character Sandra Good (commonly known by her nickname Blue), a criminal in the United States as well as a member of the infamous Manson family. Julia also did some notable work for Josephine Decker's coming-of-age romantic drama named The Sky Is Everywhere (2022).
The start of 1923 Season 2 also focuses on Spencer's struggle to find his way back to his family ranch (Yellowstone Dutton Ranch). War is raging and the Dutton family stands on the verge of losing everything so now, it is a race against time as they try to safeguard their long-rooted heritage.
The final season brings more tension as the plot culminates and the Duttons go at any length to fight for the empire they have built over the years. Moreover, Alexandra, who has always lived a life of discipline and principles, finds meaning while adventuring on thrilling new journeys alongside the love of her life, Spencer.
