Squid Game Season 2 has registered a record viewership of 68 million on Netflix within three days of release, busting the opening numbers of Wednesday, which so far held the debut record for largest viewership on the streamer (50.1 million in a week). While Squid Game Season 2 has a strong chance of becoming the highest-watched season ever for any non-English show, taking Season 1 into account makes Squid Game the maximum-watched Netflix show with a viewership of 265.2 million.

Season 2 continues to dominate the headlines, and fans are again talking about the way creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has crafted an innovative thriller narrative. In keeping with the tone of Season 1, the new season continues with the story of indivuiduals struggling financially and opting to participate in a dangerous contest that promises big money. However, as the competition starts, the participants realise that losing a game means immediate death.

In the first season, we saw how Seong Gi-hun, or Player 456, managed to make it out alive and win the prize money. However, he is back in Season 2 as a player, to try and put an end to the deadly game and find out who the the Front Man is. Squid Game Season 2 also introduces fresh characters and intriguing players.

Player 125, or the mysterious Park Min-su, is one of the new characters in the game, essayed on screen by South Korean actor Lee David. The character is first seen in Episode 4, titled Six Legs, in which the players are informed about the six-legged pentathlon.

The players are free to choose their teammates and form a group of five. During the team formation, the pop star Thanos notices Se-mi (Player 380) and approaches her to join his team. However, Se-mi has already joined forces with Player 125, or Park Min-su, and insists that she'll join Thanos only if his group also includes Min-su.

Thanos agrees and includes Se-mi and Min-su in his team. This marks the beginning of Player 125's journey in Squid Game Season 2. Read on to know how he performs, and also explore more about the actor.

As mentioned, Lee David's Park Min-su joins Thanos during the six-legged pentathlon in which the team must pass five mini games to complete the round. When it comes to Min-su's chance, he has to play the mini game of Gonggi in Episode 5, titled One More Game. He struggles, but manages to successfully complete the game.

Their team makes it to the finishing line on time and qualifies for the next game. The players who won the pentathlon return to the dorm and Nam-gyu asks Min-su to count the number of players who have survived. Seeing Nam-gyu's bullying attitude toward Park Min-su, Se-mi steps in to defend the latter.

Thanos then asks everyone their age and tells Nam-gyu to avoid giving orders to Min-su as they are the same age. However, Min-su's fear and anxiety are quite visible throughout the game, and he is comparatively a weak player.

Later, in the same episode, Min-su faces pressure from Thanos and Nam-gyu to vote for "O," which means continuing the game, despite his initial decision to vote for "X," which means stopping the game and distributing the prize money accumulated so far among the surviving contestants.

While Min-su looks like a weak and timid player, he manages to survive until the very end, but can't save Se-mi. The voting reveals most of the players have opted for "O", which means they would all have to play the next game.

Squid Game Season 2 Episode 6, titled O X, begins with the game Mingle, during which Min-su is pitted against Se-mi in a round of rock-paper-scissors. He wins, and ensures his survival along with Thanos and Nam-gyu, leaving Se-mi behind. However, she manages to team up with others.

Later, Min-su is betrayed by his teammates when players are asked to pair up. Thanos and Nam-gyu corner Min-sun but he managed to pair with another player. After the game, Min-su votes to end the games during the voting, which upsets Thanos and he intimidates him in the bathroom.

While Min-su survives the confrontation, he finds himself terrified when a violent fight happens in the dorm. To save himself, Min-su hides in the top bunk when he sees Nam-gyu attacking Se-mi.

Min-su tries to stop Nam-gyu but fails, and the results is Se-mi's tragic death. The incident leaves Min-su alone and heartbroken in Squid Game Season 2. While he survives the chaos, Min-su's fate remains uncertain, though he is expected to appear in Season 3.

The interesting theory about Player 125 in Squid Game Season 2

Player 125 is compared with VIP 3 of Season 1 (Image via Netflix)

A popular fan theory gone viral is that Min-su or Player 125 is actually VIP 3 from Squid Game Season 1. This is because the actor who portrays Min-su — Lee David — shares the same name as the actor who played VIP 3 in Season 1 Episode 7, titled VIPS, which showed the rich and mighty betting on the players when the glass bride game begins.

So, if Player 125 is indeed VIP 3, it might be possible he lost a significant amount of money and entered into the game to pay his debt. Or, he might have simply entered the game for fun. However, none of the possibilities have been confirmed in Squid Game Season 2.

Additionally, most of the VIPs in Season 1 had American accents, and none of them match Player 125's physique. While the theory about Player 125 is undeniably intriguing, it is more likely that the two actors coincidentally share the same name.
