Seon-Nyeo, or Player 044, is among the most interesting new players introduced in Squid Game Season 2. Once a revered and sought-after shaman, her prime days are over, and she is forced to take part in the games for big money.

Shamanism has been an important part of Korean history, and shamans were revered in ancient times when people would approach them for solutions to life's problems such as careers, relationships, and more. Shamans were said to be enlightened human beings who possessed divine knowledge and could foretell what's about to happen.

While the show does not dwell much on prophecies, there is one scene where Seon-Nyeo prophesies that Gi-Hun is driven by the spirits of vengeance. This is true because he participated in the games for a second time to avenge the deaths of Season 1 and put an end to the games.

Throughout Squid Game Season 2, Seon-Nyeo seems to be guided by gods, and claims each of her action is a 'calling' from above. While she initially supported the 'X' team, who were voting for the games to end midway, Seon-Nyeo later shifted to the 'O' team after being abandoned by the former. She also gained a few followers during the game, which ultimately influenced the mandatory voting where people voted 'O' after she told them to do so.

Who are the other major players introduced in Squid Game Season 2?

Apart from Seong Gi-Hun who returns as Player 456 in Squid Game Season 2, the show introduced several new players. Some of the major players are:

1) Player 390 (Jung-bae): Introduced in Season 1 as Gi-Hun's close friend, Jung-bae spent his fortune in gambling and ended up in the games. He dies in Episode 7 when The Front Man shoots him after a player revolt.

2) Player 388 (Dae-ho): An ex-Marines officer who fails to deliver ammo during the Season 2 finale, because of which many players die.
