After its debut in 2018, The Rookie is currently in its seventh season and continues to pull viewers. Following Nathan Fillion’s John Nolan, the oldest person to join the LAPD, the show follows his trials and tribulations as he must make his own space in the team while fighting the criminal activities happening around.
Being a police drama, The Rookie naturally has introduced multiple villains throughout the seasons and some of them even had multi-episode arcs. The most memorable villains from the show include Rosalind Dyer, La Fiera, and Nick Armstrong and each one of them had storylines that had spread through multiple episodes.
While it’s been a while since The Rookie has treated the fans with a villain who can match the level of the previously mentioned three, it seems that season 7 episode 4 has finally done it. This episode, titled Darkness Falling introduces Harrison Novak, a serial killer, played by Noel Fisher as the main villain.
Let us now explore Noel Fisher’s role in The Rookie in detail including the theory of him having a multi-episode arc.
Noel Fisher plays the role of Harrison Novak in The Rookie
As mentioned previously, Noel Fisher’s Harrison Novak is the newest villain in The Rookie, and by the looks of it, he might be the next big bad guy that the show has been missing for a while.
The Rookie Season 7 Episode 4 focuses on a serial killer who has been targeting young women. His identity comes to the forefront quickly and is revealed to be none other than Novak. The character already has a criminal background as three years before this he had been arrested on charges of assault and burglary.
However, due to lack of evidence, defense attorney Wesley got him freed and as is clear he has not changed his ways and has rather gotten worse. The team successfully captures him quickly and once arrested Novak shows the police where he has been hiding the bodies.

Can Noel Fisher’s Harrison Novak have a multi-episode run in The Rookie?
While Novak gets arrested in the same episode he is introduced, that should not prevent him from having a storyline running for multiple episodes. The Rookie has previously done this with Rosalind Dyer, one of the best villains of the show.
The chances of Novak’s multi-episode run seem logical for another reason as well. While digging up the bodies from the place Novak showed them, the police also find corpses that Novak does not take credit for.
Given the fact that Novak, a psychopathic serial killer would never disown his work, it becomes clear that there is a copycat killer out there who needs to be caught as well. Since the killer is copying Novak, his input might prove to be vital in nabbing this killer, something that would require him to be present in a few other episodes as well.
What other projects has Noel Fisher done besides The Rookie?
While Fisher is mainly popular for his role as Mickey Milkovich in Showtime’s Shameless, he has acted in various other projects as well. He started his career as a child artist only at the age of 14 with The Sheldon Kennedy Story, a television film.
Fisher’s other projects include Two and a Half Men, Godiva's, The Riches, etc. He has also starred in The Long Road Home, a docu-series on National Geographic.
The Rookie can be streamed on Hulu.
