Dateline episode The Man Of Many Faces will air on Friday, December 13, at 9/8c on NBC as correspondent Andrea Canning reports on American fugitive Nicholas Rossi's involvement in multple cases of s**ual assaults.

Rossi was charged with se**al assault twice in 2008, including ra**ng a 21-year-old woman in Orem, Utah and ra**ing a 26-year-old former girlfriend in Salt Lake County, as reported by AP. As per abc4, he also faked his own death to evade the r**e charges.

Over the years, he was involved in multiple similar cases and had been chased down by the police all the way from the United States to the United Kingdom. Rossi is also known for his many aliases - a notorious method used by him to escape conviction.

Nicholas Rossi, whose real name is Nicholas Alahverdian, was born in Providence, Rhode Island. Rossi had charges of s**ual assault on two women in 2008 - one of them was his former girlfriend, as per reports.

He used notorious methods to prove his innocence over the years and maintained several aliases to fool the police. Rossi also faked his death and mentioned in a statement to an NBC affiliate that he was suffering from late-stage, non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Rossi also once presented himself as Arthur Knight, an Irish and used a British accent to make it look real. After his involvement in multiple cases of s**ual assault, he left the United States and escaped to Scotland where he was arrested in 2021, but later mentioned that he had never been to the United States.

As per latest reports by AP, he identified himself as an Irish orphan named Arthur Knight for many years, claiming he had never set foot on American soil, before eventually admitting that he is indeed Nicholas Rossi.

AP reporter named Marc Horne said in a statement:

"He went by up to 16 different names, including Nicholas Alahverdian, Nicholas Rossi, Nicholas Brown, Nick Allen and, of course, Arthur Knight."

In one of his testimonies, Rossi had mentioned that he suffered from s*xual abuse and torture as a child while he was in foster care. He further said that there were multiple threats to his life owing to the work he did for the Department of Children, Youth and Families in Rhode Island.

Rossi reportedly left the country to evade r*pe charges against him. In 2008, he was accused of s**ually assaulting his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend in Salt Lake County.

As per reports, Rossi also r*ped a 21-year-old woman in Orem, Utah later that year. However, because of the lack of DNA test kits, the suspect was not identified for almost ten years.

After a three-year extradition tussle, DNA reports confirmed Rossi's real identity and he was sent to the Utah County jail on rape charges. He could not pay the bail amount of $250,000 and the defense tried to bring it down to $10,000, but the prosecutors argued and ensured he remains in jail.

Rossi reportedly mentioned on a Dateline interview with his wife sitting next to him:

"We were once a normal family, but thanks to the media our lives have been interrupted," he said, gasping into an oxygen mask. And we'd like privacy and I would like to go back to being a normal husband, but I can't because I can't breathe, I can't walk."
