The ending of Daredevil: Born Again episode 4 introduced the Marvel fans to a new masked villain—Muse. The terrifying villain in a white mask with blood running down the mask’s eyeholes appears at the start and ending of the episode. The two scenes give us a glimpse into his sadistic, villainous ways. While the character is yet to get Daredevil aka Matt Murdock’s (played by Charlie Cox) attention, we can expect some intense exchange in the upcoming episodes.
Daredevil: Born Again, which debuted on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, has already given the fans villains in the form of Wilson Fisk (played by Vincent D'onofrio) and Bullseye (played by Wilson Bethel). Episode 4 also saw the return of Frank Castle (played by Jon Bernthal) as Punisher. But the mystery surrounding Muse makes the whole scenario more intriguing as we wait and watch how Daredevil is going to uncover the man behind the mask.
What happens with Muse in Episode 4 of Daredevil: Born Again
In Episode 4 of Daredevil: Born Again, Muse, a masked criminal, appears twice. At the start of the show, Muse is seen carrying an unconscious person across train tracks into the tunnel as he looks around through his creepy white mask.
Later at the end of the episode, Muse brings the person inside the tunnel. We get glimpses of the horrific surroundings with blood stored in containers, disturbing drawings of faces, and hanging bodies. Muse goes on to pump blood from the person’s body while making them howl wildly in pain, making it certain that his victim is going to have a slow and excruciating death. This hair-raising debut moment of Muse on the show assures that we are looking at one of the more horrifying Marvel villains.
While in the past episodes Muse’s graffiti have made appearances, now the audience gets to see the villain in action.
What we know about Muse in MCU
The origin of the Marvel villain is a mystery unlike others. However, the character appears the same as it did in the comic book. Muse sports his trademark white mask with blood dripping down. He is a human who uses extreme violence on his victims.
Muse is known to use the blood from the victims for artwork to deliver a message to the public and act against the vigilantes. His bloody graffiti becomes a trademark of his villainous ways. In the comics, he goes on to have an intense feud with another vigilante, Blindspot. Whether we will see the character in the show remains to be seen.
