Who is Nessy on The Masked Singer? Identity revealed

The Masked Singer season 13, in its very recent episode, revealed the identity of Nessy. Turns out, he is none other than singer Edwin McCain himself. He had performed Million Roses by Lady Gaga the night before, the judges were able to make an intelligent guess based on his performance.

Nessy was able to get himself into the Top 15, where the contestants were vying for the Golden Mask Trophy.

The Masked Singer is a reality TV competition series that welcomed host Nick Cannon back for season 13. Throughout the installment, we see various established artists assume a character whose mask they get behind to prevent themselves from being known.

Before their performances, the audience and the judges are given hints at who they are in a video called the clue package.

After their performances and an occasional clue package that is again given, the panelists are to guess which celebrity was behind the mask. The singer who is unmasked goes home in that episode, and this time, it was singer Edwin McCain.

In an interview with Variety, talking about his elimination and the time spent on The Masked Singer, Edwin said,

"Honestly, I’ve done so many different things in my career, like we’ve landed on an aircraft carrier off the coast of Korea and played for the sailors on board. We’ve been to Djibouti, Africa and Bahrain, and we’ve played every state in the US, except for Alaska. If life be an adventure, this certainly falls in that category. I was like, of course, I’ll do that.”

Nessy is Edwin McCain on The Masked Singer season 13. While talking about his performances, Edwin said that it was tough moving around in the costume, which was heavy and also hot inside. Explaining how he managed to perform, the "I'll Be" singer said,

"It was about 10,000 degrees in there, but they gave me a vest that had ice packs all over it, which made it doable. All the staff, all the costumers, and everybody that will work on the on the program were absolute aces. It was way more comfortable than playing a festival gig in Alabama in August.”

After his performance, when the panelists were asked to make a guess as to who he was, it was only Robin Thicke who had guessed him correctly. Other panelists, such as Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg and Rita Ora, made wrong guesses, naming Johnny Rzeznik and Dave Matthews, respectively. As for Ken Jeong, he thought it was John Popper.

After the unveiling, everyone, including Edwin, was shocked at how Robin was able to guess him correctly. Talking about it, Edwin said,

"I didn’t figure Robin would know anything about me, honestly. To be fair, he is a student of music, so he does know. And obviously, being in the position he’s in, he’s heard a lot of stuff over the years.

He added,

I was trying to sing each song sort of specific to how the song would be best served. So it was different every time. So, yeah, it was pretty impressive he got it, he figured it out.”
