Torrey DeVitto's Natalie Manning was one of the main characters on Chicago Med before she left the show in Season 6. She was an emergency medicine physician specializing in pediatrics at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.

Natalie appeared in the show's premiere and was a recurring character. She had a string of short-term relationships on the show, but always ended up coming back to her best friend, Will Halstead.

DeVitto came back for a cameo in the Season 8 finale to properly conclude Natalie and Will's story. As fans had long yearned for, Natalie finally ends up with Will on Chicago Med. Nick Gehlfuss, who plays Will left the show after Season 8.

Natalie was initially married to Jeff Manning, a U.S. Army captain. However, he was killed on duty, and Natalie joined Chicago Medical Center while pregnant with their baby. She gave birth to Owen in Season 1 of the show.

Did Natalie and Will almost get married on Chicago Med? Their relationship explored

Natalie and Will worked closely together since the season premiere, and the two eventually became best friends. When Will expressed his feelings towards Natalie, who was still grieving her husband, she let him down.

The two kissed in Season 1, Episode 10, but did not start a relationship. Eventually, Natalie realized her feelings, and the two started dating. Will even proposed to Natalie.

However, their marriage plans did not work because Will was kidnapped and held hostage at gunpoint on their wedding day. While his brother saved him, they did not end up marrying because Will had to be taken to Witness protection, leaving a sobbing and confused Natalie at the Church.

When Will returned from Witness Protection, the two continued their relationship, but Natalie was unhappy when she saw Will carrying a gun for protection. When Will lied about disposing of the gun, Natalie broke up with him.

The two then dated other people before Natalie's exit in Season 6.

However, she returns in the Season 8 finale, and the two eventually end up back together. It is implied that Will and Natalie will now live together in Seattle with her son Owen.

Natalie's other relationships on Chicago Med explored

Natalie briefly had a relationship with Jeff Clarke, her husband's best friend. When she learnt that Jeff confessed to having feelings for Natalie to her late husband, she broke up with him.

Later, Natalie met Philip Davis after her daughter was rushed to the ER. The two eventually started a relationship that progressed very fast. However, Philip was very manipulative and even lied to Owen to get him to like him.

In Season 5, Natalie was in a car crash, which gave her a head injury and she was rushed to the ER, leading to partial memory loss. Philip took the incident as an opportunity and deceitfully placed a ring on her finger to make her believe they were engaged before the accident. When Natalie regained her memories, she broke up with Philip.

Natalie also had a relationship with Crockett Marcel, a surgeon. However, it was often strained because of her residual feelings for Will. She left in Season 6 without any permanent commitment to Crockett.

Chicago Med returned for Season 10 on September 25, 2024.
