Daredevil: Born Again trailer seems to have assured the fans that despite the change from Netflix to Disney+, the show will retain its darkness and brutality. The bone-crunching action and violence point towards the adult nature of the show. Another thing that makes the show darker and edgier is the character of Muse. He is a serial killer who was introduced in 2016 through Daredevil (Vol. 5) #11.

Fans met Muse for the first time in the aforementioned Daredevil comic published in September 2016. The most identifying aspect of Muse is his physical appearance, which is like that of a Banksy art. However, his goofy appearance contrasts firmly with his sadistic personality. Let's look at this character before we meet him in Daredevil: Born Again.

Who is Daredevil: Born Again's Muse in the comics?

Writer Charles Soule and artist Ron Garney are the minds behind the creation of this decade-old Daredevil antagonist Muse. He is a street graffiti artist with a sinister secret. The art that he paints on the walls is created using blood and sometimes even the body parts of people whom he holds hostage and kills.

Despite his heightened senses, Daredevil finds it hard to catch Muse as the latter possesses some superpowers too. He can shield himself from The Man Without Fear's heightened senses by pulling sensory information near him and forming a vortex around him. Apart from that superpower, he can effortlessly catch objects thrown at him by using his superhuman reflexes.

Muse frequently kills his victims by tearing them apart with his bare hands, suggesting superhuman strength. And, in the comics, Muse is an adept hand-to-hand combatant. So, his sadistic art, powers, and martial arts experience will be a challenge for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen in Daredevil: Born Again. However, it is unclear if we will see Samuel Chung/Blindspot in Born Again.

In the comics, Blindspot works with Daredevil to take down Muse twice. In one of those times, Muse gorges out his eyes. But, he gains back those eyes with The Hand's mystical magic. In another round, Sam defeats Muse using The Hand's magic but refuses to kill the latter. However, to fulfill his twisted version of art, Muse willingly immolates himself.

Who are the other villains of Daredevil: Born Again in addition to Muse?

Apart from Muse, Murdock's vigilante has to contend with the following antagonists throughout the runtime of Born Again:

  • Wilson Fisk

As the trailers revealed, Vincent D'Onofrio is back as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin; this time, he has gotten a promotion to the Mayor of NYC. This was teased in the concluding moments of Echo as he was watching the news on the flight. Born Again might probably take its cues from Daredevil (2017) #595-600, in which Fisk outlaws vigilante activities.

This action may put him in conflict with not only Daredevil but also Spider-Man.

  • Bullseye/Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter

Bullseye/Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter debuted in Daredevil Season 3. Dex was an FBI agent who, under Fisk's orders, impersonated the Man Without Fear and killed the Kingpin's rivals. However, he turned on Fisk to avenge his friend's murder, which was carried out under the latter's orders. Kingpin ends up breaking his spine in a three-way fight involving him, Daredevil, and Fisk.

In the last season of Daredevil Season 3, we see him on a surgery table, setting him as one of Daredevil's beloved villains, Bullseye.

As of now, we don't know the actor playing Muse. Hopefully, it stays that way till March 4, 2025, when the first episode of Daredevil: Born Again will be available to stream on Disney+.
