Mason Dye is an actor who shot to fame by playing Jason Carver in Netflix’s Stranger Things, and he has another exciting opportunity. He has been cast in the fifth season of Prime Video’s hugely popular superhero series, The Boys.

The actor will play the role of a supe named Bombsight in The Boys Season 5, which marks the final installment of the satirical show. While details about his character have been kept under wraps, the supe’s name was already mentioned in an earlier episode of the series.

Mason Dye was seen as Jason Carver, a Hawkins High student and basketball player, in Stranger Things Season 4 in 2022. The actor has appeared in several other shows and films during his decade-long career in the entertainment industry.


Mason Dye has been acting since 2013

Born on July 15, 1994, Mason Dye was brought up in Oklahoma. He is the older brother of country music singer Taylor Elizabeth ‘Tae’ Kerr, one half of the duo Maddie & Tae. Dye made his acting debut with a supporting role in the 2013 film Adventures of Bailey: A Night in Cowtown.

He then went on to star in a web series before playing the role of Christopher in the Lifetime TV movie Flowers in the Attic. Dye reached a wider audience when he was cast as Garrett in MTV’s supernatural drama Teen Wolf Season 4.

He also appeared in another MTV teen series, Finding Carter, and made episodic appearances in TNT’s Major Crimes and Comedy Central’s Review. In 2016, Dye was seen in the films Natural Selection and Vanished – Left Behind: Next Generation. Three years later, he joined Prime Video’s police procedural series Bosch as Tom Galligan.

The actor gained international fame in 2022 when he starred as Jason Carver in Stranger Things. Though Dye had a recurring role in the sci-fi horror series, he was able to shine with his amazing performance as the high school basketball captain.

Dye’s acting career has earned him popularity on social media. The actor frequently posts pictures from his television sets and vacations on Instagram, with over 400k followers.


Mason Dye will star as Bombsight in The Boys season 5

Mason Dye will guest star in The Boys Season 5 as Bombsight. The supe was mentioned in the fourth season, where it was revealed that Bombsight starred in a Vought superhero movie in the 1950s called The Curse of Fu Manchu.

As per a report by Variety, Bombsight could also star in The Boys spin-off series Vought Rising, which Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash are headlining. The prequel series follows Soldier Boy and Stormfront as they get involved in a murder mystery during the initial days of Voguht International.

Dye is the newest addition to the cast of The Boys and is joining the likes of Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, and Chace Crawford. Daveed Diggs is also confirmed to join the cast in season 5. The Hamilton star will be a series regular; however, his character details are yet to be revealed.

The Boys is based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic books and premiered on Prime Video in 2019. The show has garnered a dedicated fan following over the years thanks to its fresh and realistic take on the superhero genre. The release date for the final season has not been announced as of now, but the show is expected to return sometime in 2026.
