Love is Blind Season 7 concluded its finale episode on October 23, 2024, and featured two weddings: Taylor-Garrett and Ashley-Tyler. Of the other engaged couples, one couple, Marissa and Ramses, broke things off right before their scheduled wedding day.
Things went south between the couple after Ramses shared his doubts and decided to part ways with Marissa. In her October 23, 2024, interview with Vulture, Marissa opened up about how the duo reached parting ways from almost married.
The female cast member shared how she met Ramses' mother via FaceTime and his niece and brother. Marissa was also introduced to Ramses' closet friend David when he came for the Tux fitting.
"I met his mom through FaceTime, and she was lovely. She's very beautiful and very nice. I met his brother and his niece, and then I met his closest friend, David, who was at the tux fitting. And I also met two of his close girlfriends — girls that are friends, not ex-girlfriends."
Love is Blind Season 7: Marissa opens up about Ramses' family and friends
As fans are well aware, after engagement and spending time together during the "Honeymoon" phase, the engaged couples on Love is Blind advance to the next phase, which includes participants meeting their partner's friends, family, and close relatives.
For that part, Marissa, who was engaged to Ramses, met his mother through FaceTime. The female cast member called her Ramses' mother "lovely, beautiful, and very nice." The lawyer also met Ramses' brother and niece.
The Love is Blind star revealed that she met Ramses' "close" girlfriends, who were his friends and not "girlfriends." Talking more about them, the female cast member shared,
"Those meetings went really well. They talked a lot about how, yes, they noticed a difference in our energy, but they thought it was very complementary. And Ramses was so sure until he wasn't, right? It didn't seem like any of his friends asked him that. I think his brother might have, but that was the day before the breakup."
From getting engaged and being introduced to his closest friends and family, the Love is Blind star shared how it felt "so jarring" when Ramses dropped a bomb on her about breaking off their engagement.
"It was so jarring! I’m not gonna lie. Had he told me throughout the process, "Oh, yeah, I love you, babe, but there are some things we need to figure out before I move on," that would have helped with the breakup."
But when someone’s looking you in the face every day, multiple times a day, saying, "I'm 100 percent in," it's jarring to hear, all of a sudden, "Not only do I no longer want to get married to you — I don’t want to date you anymore. I don’t want to do anything anymore," shared Marissa.
Later in her interview, the female cast member revealed how, after the social experiment ended and she watched the show, she could see him "slipping" away. Marissa also mentioned how she noticed the lack of enthusiasm in her former fiance at the time.
The Love is Blind star also mentioned how Ramses was the one who "wasn't answering" emails related to the wedding planning and more. That behavior of his made Marissa feel like if she wouldn't do it, then who would? That was why she had to be "all involved"- because Ramses didn't.
"It wasn't like I had all this free time to do it, but I was like, “If I don't do it, then who's going to?" He wasn't answering wedding-planning emails, so I was like, "Okay, well, I guess while I'm in class, I'll sit here and go through my emails and answer stuff and figure things out."
At the time, Marissa felt that due to "stress" and "overwhelmed" by the experiment, he might be feeling such things because of the filming pressure. But, after he called things off, she was "devastated," her mother came and had a "private" conversation with Ramses, which was off-camera.
Netflix is now streaming all episodes of Love is Blind Season 7 on the platform.
