The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 has already made a lot of noise about its arrival. The latest installment of The Lincoln Lawyer franchise is a ten-part show based on Michael Connelly's thriller book series, The Gods of Guilt. The show follows the protagonist, Micky Haller, as he navigates the web of criminals and convicts while working from the backseat of his favorite Lincoln automobile.

Apart from Micky Haller, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, the Netflix show has a host of supporting characters who lend authenticity and a rich milieu. One among those is the character of David 'Legal' Siegel, brought to life by the talented actor Ellie Gould. Legal serves as Micky's mentor, often providing him with invaluable advice owing to the former's considerable years of experience.

Micky first embarked on this course of legal redemption after recovering from a habit of substance abuse and was handed high-profile criminal cases. Since then, he and his team of legal wizards have been tasked with proving someone's innocence throughout the seasons. In between all this, the one thing that doesn't change is Micky's love for Lincoln automobiles, earning him the title.

The Lincoln Lawyer: Legal's character explained

As the story goes, Legal was Micky's late father's legal partner before the ball started rolling on The Lincoln Lawyer. Following his father's death, Legal sustained his affectionate relationship with Micky and ended up being his confidant and mentor. The character is played by the venerable Elliot Gould. It strongly resembles his archetype of playing a rich benefactor and mentor to the protagonist, as seen in the Ocean's franchise, wherein he played Reuben Tischkoff.

Gould is an exemplary actor who was born and raised in Brooklyn. He started his career on Broadway and eventually appeared in acclaimed film productions throughout the '60s and '70s, such as Bob & Carol, Ted & Alice, The Long Goodbye, and A Bridge Too Far. He has also had a successful career in TV.

Showrunners reveal details about shooting The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3

As can be expected from a thriller series based on legal proceedings, The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 was filled with unexpected twists and dramatic turns. One such plot point that the audiences have wholeheartedly praised is the scene in which Bishop confesses everything.

According to Tudum by Netflix, which spoke at length with showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez, much attention was given to that one courtroom scene while it was being filmed. They further revealed that it took them three days to shoot that scene, which was brought together with fifty shots. Humphrey further commented:

"It was a tremendous experience to work with Holt (the actor who plays Bishop), He is such a wonderfully understated actor. Nothing is showy, but it’s all 100% real. He brought so much genuine pathos. And every time was heartbreaking, even when you’d already seen it again and again, if we’ve done our jobs right, hopefully audiences will be shocked and saddened by it, but also, on reflection, realize that it was inevitable."

All The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 episodes are available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
