Did Levi get a new job in Texas on Grey's Anatomy? Exploring his exit from Season 21 of the medical procedural
Season 21 Episode 7 wrapped up a long-running main cast storyline in Seattle. After Levi's ABSITE scores were not good enough to earn him a fellowship in Pediatrics at Grey Sloan, Monica Beltran put him on a pediatric research job in Texas, thus wrapping up his storyline in Texas.
Levi is an important character on the show, especially because of his groundbreaking LGBTQ+ storyline. In it, he had his first kiss with Nico, the show's first openly gay character.
He made the cast of Grey's Anatomy more inclusive, and his departure will surely leave a hole. The only silver lining was that the show wrapped his storyline neatly, and he got to say goodbye to his best friends, Taryn and Jo, on the show.
While the reasons for the actor's exit were not disclosed, the show also wrapped Michael Thomas Grant's James storyline from the show, who moved in with Levi in Texas after starting a romance in Season 21.
Mika is mourning her sister's death in Grey's Anatomy Season 21. Exploring Midori Francis' exit from the show
Levi is not the only character who bids farewell to Grey Sloan in the show's fall finale. Before the premiere, the makers announced that Midori would exit. Season 21 is the final outing for her character, Mika.
Actress Midori did not state the reason for her exit, but she wanted to try out new opportunities in her career after signing with WME months earlier.
The groundwork for her exit began in Episode 7 when she had a car accident with her sister Chloe. The fall finale took place six months after this accident, after Chloe's death and Mika's subsequent surgery.
While it seems that Mika has fully recovered from her sister's death and is ready to resume her job at the hospital, it is not true. Episode 8 saw Mika lashing out at Bailey after a patient had an attack because of a heat stroke.
She froze on the scene and lashed out at Bailey for not saving the patient despite being a 'doctor.' She is not over her sister's death. When Bailey advises her to take a break from her job, Mika responds that she will quit because everything at Sloan reminds her of Chloe.
Thus, Mika leaves her job, and unlike Levi, who gets his happy ending with his partner, Mika leaves a heartbroken Jules after hinting at a relationship with her.
Grey's Anatomy Season 21 concluded with its mid-season finale after bidding farewell to two beloved characters.
