She knew that Ben had a sweet tooth and an eating disorder, which made it a perfect set-up for her plan. As planned, Ben ate the poison-laced cookie, but many drugs like HGH and Viagra were already in his system, which made the rat poison ineffective.

She confessed to pushing Ben into the elevator shaft of the Arconia to save her son Cliff.

Cliff accidentally killed Ben in Only Murders In The Building Season 3

While the trio believed that Donna murdered Ben as per her confession, Mabel overheard a conversation between her and Cliff that gave way to suspicion in her mind.

In the Only Murders In The Building Season 3 finale, Mabel finally confronts Cliff, who was about to commit suicide in the theatre attic because he could not hold the guilt of Ben's murder anymore. After Mabel finds him, he finally confesses to the murder.

Donna and Cliff were both arrested by police at the end of Episode 10, resulting in another triumphant investigation for Charles, Mabel, and Oliver.
