More on Amanda's killer in The Åre Murders in our story.
How did Hannah find Amanda's killer in The Åre Murders?
In Amanda's case, Hannha and Daniel had many red herrings, including her best friends Lasse and Fredrik Borge. But the killer is finally revealed when Hannah follows a chance lead and visits Amanda's mother, Lena.
In The Åre Murders Episode 3, Hannah discovers that Lena has overdosed, and she reaches her home to get her help. After she forces her to throw up, she comes across a notebook in Amanda's home, revealing their cleaning company's name, which Annika and Bosse own.
Amanda's mother also reveals to Hannah that her daughter cared for their cleaning lady Zuhra, and the detective feels the information is crucial for their case. She goes to Annika's house to question her about Zuhra, but she meets her husband, Bosse instead, who tells her that his wife is not home.
Next, Hannah finds Zuhra, who explains the secret behind Amanda's side hustle of selling stolen goods. She reveals that Bosse lured him into his company, promising her good money, but is actually involved in human trafficking. He also took hold of her passport, hindering her from going to her mother in Germany.
After Zuhra confided in Amanda, she helped her by selling stolen goods and also sent the money to her mother. On the night of the party, Amanda promised she would get her passport back from Bosse.
Why did Bosse kill Amanda in The Åre Murders? Explaining Episode 3 ending
Just as Hannah is talking with Zuhra, Bosse barges in with a gun, revealing that he is Amanda's killer in The Åre Murders. After a wild chase in the snow, Daniel finally arrives as Hannah's backup and arrests Bosse.
Daniel questions Bosse on why he murdered Amanda in The Åre Murders, and he finally reveals the events of the night of the party.
He reveals that Amanda called him and threatened to return Zuhra's passport and free her from his dirty human trafficking operation. She also threatened to expose his dirty secret to the police because she knew that his company was in huge debt, and this was his way of getting out of it.
Bosse pretends to comply with Amanda and asks to drop her home. When Amanda sits in his car alone at night, he drives her to a secluded spot, where they have an argument. Bosse was fearful that Amanda would rat him out to the police, so as she was about to leave the car, he attacked and strangled her till she died. He then left her body in the lift, which was later found.
