Snapped: Who is Jennifer Blake?
Jennifer Blake was born in 1975 and her family moved to Virginia when Jennifer was 11. According to the 2008 TV series Women Behind Bars, Blake claimed that her mother was physically and emotionally abusive. She said that her mother tried to choke her until she passed out. She also alleged that Kathy Kraynik would loan her daughter out to men.
In 1990, Jennifer Blake attempted suicide and was admitted to a psychiatric hospital. In 1991, she was charged with assault and battery against Kathy Kraynik. As early as 1993, she married and had her first child. A couple of years later, Jennifer allegedly got divorced and moved in with her mother along with her child.
Jennifer Blake began dating Corey Jackson in 2000. Jackson began sneaking into Kraynik's house regularly before Kraynik found out and demanded that Jennifer vacate the house in a month.
Kathy Kraynik's murder
On December 11, 2000, Jennifer, with the help of Corey Jackson, choked and suffocated Kathy Kraynik before burning the body in a trash can and leaving it at the side of a random road.

Soon after, Jennifer reported Kraynik missing. Her burnt body was found on December 26, 2000. Authorities found strangulation and suffocation as the cause of death. Jennifer and Corey Jackson were charged with first-degree murder. In 2001, Corey Jackson pled guilty to second-degree murder and testified against Jennifer in exchange for a lighter sentence.
Although Jennifer Blake maintained that she was innocent, she was convicted of first-degree murder and is serving a life sentence without a chance for parole.
