During his search, he started uncovering state conspiracies and experiments taking place in Hawkins National Laboratory, as well as supernatural powers from the Upside Down. Hopper meets Eleven during his search and over the season forms a father-daughter bond with her. This journey changed him and made him more responsible. During his search, Joyce also joined him, and they both grew closer and developed feelings for each other.

David Kenneth Harbour played the role of Jim Hopper in Stranger Things. He is an American actor, born on April 10, 1975 in New York. He did many stage performances in the 1990s including Shakespearian productions like The Tempest, Much Ado About Nothing, The Winter's Tale, and Hamlet. He made his professional debut in 1999 on Broadway with The Rainmaker. He was nominated for a Tony Award in 2005 for his performance in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?".

In 1999, he made his TV debut with Law & Order. He received worldwide popularity as Hopper in Stranger Things. He won the Screen Actors Guild Award and Critics' Choice Television Award for this role.
