Marvel's Daredevil: Born Again takes us back to the rough streets of Hell's Kitchen, with familiar characters including BB Urich. Genneya Walton plays BB, a video journalist hosting The BB Report. Her show offers raw, unfiltered glimpses of New York's darker side. BB is the niece of Ben Urich, the journalist who helped uncover Wilson Fisk's crimes in the first season of Daredevil.

Ben worked for The New York Bulletin while BB has chosen a different path with digital journalism. At a time when traditional media is fading, she is making a name for herself. Since Ben was killed by Fisk, BB's role in the story of Daredevil: Born Again makes us wonder how aware she is of her family's past.

Will she walk in her uncle's footsteps, or might she share his fate? It should be interesting to see what's in store for her, considering her connection with such a pivotal character.

BB Urich’s role in Daredevil: Born Again is linked with Wilson Fisk

BB Urich's connection with Daredevil: Born Again is mainly through her links with the city's most feared person, Wilson Fisk. In the second episode of the show, she scores an interview with Fisk, now the Mayor of New York. Fisk is doing this to improve his public image, but it puts BB in a tricky situation.

Her uncle, Ben Urich, was killed by Fisk in Daredevil Season 1 because he found out about the latter's crimes. Although BB might not know about this at first, dealing with Fisk could lead her to investigate dangerous things. Aidan Kelley from Collider points out that while Fisk is trying to look good in public, there are flaws in his new image that BB might spot. This could make her a risk in Fisk's quest for power.

BB's role in the show displays that Marvel keeps using investigative journalism in their stories. Before this, Karen Page did the job. In Born Again, BB brings a new way of finding the truth. Michael John Petty from Looper says her journalistic approach is more modern and uses digital tools, which makes her different from her uncle Ben. She still has that strong need to know the truth, though.

So, BB Urich's involvement in the show Daredevil: Born Again is important for a couple of reasons. It ties into the history with Fisk and shows how journalism can be part of the story in a fresh way. She is a new kind of hero who uses her skills to find out what's really going on.

BB Urich’s comic book origins and her place in the

Daredevil mythos

BB Urich is a new character for the Daredevil: Born Again series, but she is inspired by her uncle's comicbook history. Ben Urich, introduced in Daredevil (Vol. 1) #153 in 1978, was a journalist for The Daily Bugle. He played a big part in revealing Wilson Fisk's corruption and also figured out that Matt Murdock is Daredevil. Ben was always a symbol of morality in a world of dishonesty.

While BB doesn't have a direct comic book twin, her appearance in Born Again feels like a modern take on Ben. In the comicbooks, Ben's nephew, Phil Urich, went down a different path, becoming the Green Goblin and Hobgoblin. But the show keeps it real by making BB a journalist like Ben.

Marvel keeps the focus on journalism with BB Urich. Her role in Daredevil: Born Again is about digging for the truth on Wilson Fisk, which could be really important for Daredevil: Born Again. It is likely she will take big risks, just like Ben did. So, she is like Ben but in a new way that fits the show's style of real-world reporting.
