Season 2 picks up from where Season 1 left off. The Front Man again calls Gi-Hun and finds out that he is still up with the spirit of destroying Squid Games. After two years the series showcases Gi-Hun hiring a Loan Shark Mr. Kim to find out the recruiter of Squid Games known as Salesman. The salesman is the one who shows his face to the public and is aware of the location where the game is going to be held. Eventually, Mr. Kim and one of his men, Woo-Seok, find out the Salesman is recruiting more contestants and decide to follow him.

Meanwhile, Jun-ho, In-Ho's detective brother has joined his job back as a police officer but chooses to stay away from detective work until he discovers Gi-hun in Seoul. He still remembers how he didn't help him when he was looking for his brother in Season 1. Jun-Ho tracks him down and finds a sketchy motel where Gi-Hun lives.

As a result, Gi-Hun trusts Jun-Ho and Woo Seok and shows them the arsenal he wants to use to destroy Squid Game. He finds a businessman card with an invitation to talk to the Front Man in the pocket of the Salesman's Suit. Gi-Hun offers some share of his wealth and tries to team up with Jun-Ho and Woo Seok. However, none of them were interested in money. He shows them his shooting range where they can practice till they finally storm into the location of Squid Game.

Gi-Hun further risks his life and tells the frontman that he wants to go back into the game. He puts a tracker in his fake tooth so that Jun-Ho is aware of the Squid Game's location.

The Front Man accepts Gi-Hun's proposal and allows him into the game. He later meets the Front Man through the Salesman's golden business card in an intercom and when he reiterates his wish to take out the Game, a strange gas fills the limo and Gi-hun passes out. Gi-hun is then taken to the Squid Game location.
