The mystery of George's death in Bad Sisters Season 1
George's story in Bad Sisters begins in Season 1 when Becka visits JP's mother Minna at her house. During their conversation, Minna reveals that JP has been frequently going down to the basement, a place he previously avoided.
This injected Becka with curiosity to learn why JP was spending an unusual amount of time in the basement and began her investigation. Upon exploring the basement, Becka felt like she was in a taxidermist’s workplace. Her search becomes even more chilling when she discovers a freezer and searches for the key, hoping to find out what JP has been hiding.
Soon after Becka got the key, she opened the freezer and couldn't believe her eyes. The freezer had JP's father George's decomposed body, opening up a new mystery. But how did Becka learn that it was George's body in Season 1?
George has been a recurring topic of conversation between Minna and Becka. JP's mother has been suffering from Alzheimer's and often claimed that Geoger would come back. JP on the other hand, always dismissed her claim, saying it was due to her illness and his father would never return.
Additionally, Becka remembered the old photographs that Minna had shown her, in which she also saw George. This way, Beca was able to find out that it was George's dead body.

George's death in Bad Sisters highlights JP's complexity
The mystery surrounding George's death in the Apple TV+ series reflects his importance in understanding JP on a deeper level. The discovery of his dead body cast a showed over JP's character, leading the Garveys to suspect him to have been involved in the murder.
The sisters understood how far JP had gone, and it gave them another reason to kill him. While their initial motive to kill JP was due to his abusive behavior, the discovery of his father's death added to the urgency of their plan.
However, the tables turned when JP was found dead, and later Bad Sisters Season 1 Episode 9 revealed that JP did kill his father. However, the remains of his dead body were still missing, and thankfully the mystery was resolved in the ongoing season.
As seen in Bad Sisters Season 2 Episode 1 "Good Sisters" a body is discovered in a suitcase that had been tossed into a pond. Turns out that it's JP's father George's dead body whom he previously killed.
As the case is reopened, Detective Fergal Loftus and his trainee Una Houlihan take charge. Loftus was close to his retirement, but his past mistakes led him to desperately uncover the truth, hinting at a complicated situation for the Garveys.
