Netflix's South Korean thriller drama Squid Game is rooted in the desperation of people trapped in financial struggles. It's about a deadly competition in which 456 people compete in playing traditional Korean Games that come with a life-and-death twist. Moreover, the prize money for the winning contestant is a whopping amount of 45.6 billion Korean won.

Who is the Front Man in Squid Game?
The Front Man is trusted with absolute control over all three classes of guards and surveils the survival game through several monitoring screens. The Front Man appears when the situation gets out of control such as when the identity of the staff member is revealed he executes the exposed member maintaining the confidentiality of the organization.
In Season 2 of Squid Game, Lee Byung-hun who played Hwang In-Ho in Season 1 returns as The Front Man, the mysterious leader. He is firm and sophisticated, respectful to Gi-Hun. As shown in Season 1, when Gi-Hun wins In-Ho congratulates him and tells him to forget everything and remember his victory as he might be traumatised by the game itself like In-Ho was earlier.
What we know about the Front Man in Squid Game, character in-depth
In the Squid Game, Hwang In-Ho is the Front Man and the secondary antagonist in season 1 and the main antagonist in season 2. He is the leader of the masked men and the enigmatic overseer of the Squid Games.
In season 1 it was revealed that he is an ex-police officer and brother of Detective Hwang Jun-Ho. In-Ho was invited to compete in the Oh ll-nam survival competition. He later won the competition and became his right-hand man- The Front Man. Meanwhile, his sudden disappearance compels his brother to conduct a police investigation.
In-ho is very strict and ruthless when it comes to the order of the games. He believes that the Squid Games is based on pure equality as every contestant is in equal danger regardless of their classes. Therefore it's a fair play in comparison to the inequality they are suffering in the outside world.
The Front Man is also responsible for the entertainment of the rich gamblers sitting behind the games. The players are similar to that of horses in race with the rich gamblers putting their money on them.
However, In-Ho is close to his brother Jun-Ho and when Jun-Ho joins the game in search of his brother he stops the guard to fire him and reveals his face to him. He further offers him a safe way out but Jun-Ho refuses and he shoots him non fatally on the shoulder, unlike other contestants. This depicts his love and attachment to his younger brother.
In an interview with Tudum, Netflix Lee Byung says that in Season 2 his face-off with Gi-Hun is the highlight.
“[Front Man] wants to enlighten Gi-hun — to teach Gi-hun and make him think the same way he does about the world and mankind,” Lee Byung-hun tells Tudum. “On some level, subconsciously, [the Front Man] looks at Gi-hun, who refuses to let go of the hope that he crries for the world and for humanity, [in a way that] that reminds him of himself.”
