Paramount+'s Tulsa King is an American crime series that follows Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) who is out of prison recently after serving 25 years.
Dwight is the leader of the Invernizzi family and an ex-mafia boss. After his prison sentence, he is sent to Tulsa. There, he meets Stacy Beale (Andrea Savage), a female FBI agent tasked with fighting the local militia groups.
Even though they are on opposite spectrums of the law, the two form a mutual attraction, which results in a one-night stand. But, Stacy is taken aback after learning Dwight's identity, as she is now torn between her duty and her feelings towards him.
As Tulsa King progresses, their relationship becomes more complicated. Stacy initially confides in Dwight partially and later betrays him in the series finale.
More about Stacy Beale on Tulsa King in our story.
Stacy takes a bullet for Dwight in Tulsa King
While Stacy is tasked to investigate Dwight when she joins the ATF, things get complicated when she develops feelings for the mafia boss.
She meets him for a one-night stand, but instantly regrets it after she learns he is trying to set up a new crime operation in Tulsa. She watches him communicate with allies and local criminals and even tries to warn him about the future several times.
In the season finale, Dwight plans to open a casino, but is attacked by Caolan Waltrip's men. Meanwhile, Stacy confronts Waltrip at his hideout about a missing informant.
Stacy and Dwight meet up to collectively confront Waltrip, but are instead greeted with shots fired at them by Waltrip and his gang. Amidst this shootout, Stacy takes a bullet by stepping in the line of fire and is injured.
Waltrip's goal was to shoot Dwight, but Stacy takes the fall instead of him and gets injured. She is, however, rushed to the hospital and saved.
Stacy chooses her job instead of Dwight in the Tulsa King finale
While it looks like Stacy has made her decision and chose Dwight when she took the bullet for him, things took a turn in the series finale of Tulsa King Season 1.
Dwight meets up with Stacy, who is still recovering from her gunshot, and gives her a flash drive with $1 million, which he stole from Waltrip. After losing her job with the FBI, she finds a way in to get her job back.
After knowing Stacy can access Dwight, the FBI offers her job back if she gives them evidence against him. While Dwight does a selfless act by offering the money to Stacy, unlike him, she betrays him by choosing her job against her feelings towards him.
Stacy offers the drive to the police as evidence against Dwight, and he is arrested for bribing a federal agent, which she confirms. The season finale sees Dwight getting arrested while Stacy gets her job back.
However, Dwight turns this false accusation on its head in Tulsa King Season 2 when he makes his case in front of the court in Episode 3. He claims that drive was a gift to a friend who saved his life and took a bullet for him.
Since the government couldn't trace the drive back to Dwight (because he stole it from Waltrip), the court found him not guilty. He later learns that Stacy has been transferred to Anchorage. Her fate in Season 2 is yet to be confirmed.
