Apple TV+ has released the third episode of Before on Apple TV+, which continues to explore Dr. Eli Adler and Noah's connection. Unlike his previous doctors or psychiatrists, Adler is determined to help Noah while unraveling the mystery surrounding the young lad.
In Before episode 3, we see Dr. Eli Adler patiently providing Noah with therapy, during which the boy shares information he hadn't before. As seen in previous episodes, Noah has been struggling with visions involving water.
However, in episode 3, Noah starts seeing frozen water while remembering his earliest memory. His hallucination grows as Noah starts seeing frozen windows and the ceiling around him, with his lip turning dark and his breath becoming visible.
Following the incident, nurses discover that Noah has water in his lungs and believe that he might have attempted to hurt himself. However, his vision also hinted at something supernatural, but it remained a mystery.
Noah then starts blaming Dr. Eli Adler for his past traumas. His response hints at deeper issues he is struggling with. Meanwhile, Adler finds it hard to keep his distance from Noah as he feels connected.
Episode 3 also sheds light on Adler's personal life during a family dinner. However, when he avoids talking about his late wife, it raises questions about his grievance. He even dismisses the idea of selling the house where he lived with Lynn.
By the end of the episode, Dr. Eli Adler seeks to understand Noah's mental health conditions. He thinks Noah has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), a disorder linked to childhood. The child psychiatrist believes that Noah's unusual visions and behavior are due to a split identity and gap in memories.
The third episode ends with a startling scene where Adler is suffocating his wife, Lynn. This raises questions about whether Alder was hallucinating or it was something he did in the past.
