The Shogun series has witnessed several deaths throughout the 10 episodes of its first season.
Shogun is an FX series based on the book of the same name written by James Clavell back in 1975. The series has earned huge acclaim for being historically accurate in depicting the authentic ways of the Japanese during the era of the shogunates and samurais. Being a historical fiction, the series follows John Blackthorne, an English sailor who arrived in the lands of Japan where the protagonist initially believed he could start up his business.
As the story progresses, John understands that the natives here are not open to strangers from foreign lands, and his life is in danger. At the same time, the Lord of the Kanto region, Yoshii Toranaga, who was involved in the power struggle of the region to become the ultimate leader, the Shogun, learns about the protagonist and considers him a blessing to increase his strength. John now has to train Toranaga’s men in the warfare of the seas using cannons and guns to ensure safe passage back to his home.
