Arcane Season 2 has dropped a major bomb. And fans just can’t keep calm with the reveal. The name “Dr. Reveck” is finally mentioned. And this confirms a long-standing fan theory.
But who exactly is Corin Reveck? How does he tie into the League of Legends universe?
For those unfamiliar, Arcane is the Netflix show that reimagines the lore of League of Legends. The show has some really stunning visuals and layered storytelling.
Arcane stays true to the essence of the game. But it also isn’t afraid to tweak things up a bit. The arcs are altered to make them more compelling.
We’ve seen this with Jinx’s heartbreaking transformation and Viktor’s tragic brilliance. Now, the creative team has taken another bold step. They have blended the backstory of Singed, the mad scientist, with Corin Reveck. He is a character from LoL lore.
Let’s break down who Corin Reveck is in Arcane Season 2.
Who is Corin Reveck in League of Legends?
In League of Legends, Corin Reveck is an artificer from Piltover. He is also the father of Orianna. She is a champion known as The Lady of Clockwork.
His story is as tragic as it is fascinating. Corin was a talented inventor. He used to craft intricate prosthetics. He also trained Orianna in the art of invention.
But his world turned upside down when Orianna fell victim to toxic gas while trying to help Zaunite citizens. To save her life, Corin began replacing her damaged organs with clockwork parts.
Her lungs, her limbs, all piece by piece. Orianna became more machine than human. She retained only her heart. Tragically, Orianna later sacrificed even her heart to save Corin. She uses a clockwork device called "The Ball" to sustain herself.
When Orianna disappeared, Corin vowed to find her. He held on to a golden dancer she left behind as a reminder of her.
The big reveal in Arcane Season 2 Episode 5
In Arcane Season 2, we get to know that Corin Reveck has been reimagined as Singed, the Zaunite scientist. Fans speculated about this connection for a while. And thanks to subtle clues like Singed’s pocket watch that contains a picture of a girl resembling Orianna.
Episode 5, Blisters and Bedrock, makes it official. Singed, or Dr. Reveck, admits to Caitlyn and Ambessa that his experiments were all just to desperately save his daughter. Those experiments included creating Shimmer and the monstrous Warwick.
In one emotional moment, he sets down the pocket watch. It doubles as a key, revealing a hidden room. That’s where Orianna lies, suspended in a pod. She is kept alive by chemical pumps.
He tells Caitlyn:
“Everything I’ve done is to cure her.”
His ultimate goal is to conquer death itself. Even if it means losing what’s left of his humanity.

What does this mean for Arcane Season 2?
The blending of Singed’s and Corin’s backstories gives Arcane the chance to flesh out Singed’s character beyond being just a “mad scientist.” His motives are morally gray. But they are deeply rooted in love and loss.
We also see how this ties into Warwick. He is revealed to be Vander’s transformed body. When Jinx faces Warwick, his memories of Vander surface.
This makes the already complex narrative even more layered. Singed believes Warwick might hold the key to curing Orianna. Though the cost of it remains uncertain.
