Netflix’s newest reality television cooking series Culinary Class Wars has already captivated cooking enthusiasts across the world. The Korean show dominated global charts this week with over 3,500,000 views and counting.

The series primarily revolves around 100 chefs under one roof, competing for the top spot in their class of Black Spoons and White Spoons. The Black Spoons are the underdog chefs who’ve just begun their culinary journey.

The White Spoons on the other hand are seasoned chefs who’ve dedicated their lives to the art of producing excellence on a plate. The chefs go head-to-head, testing their skills in gastronomy.

While food is the primary focus of Culinary Class Wars, the music, and voiceover aspects have gained traction among fans. Viewers have been mesmerized by the dubbed voice of Chef Ahn Sung-Jae in the show.

Who is Brett Calo from Culinary Class Wars?

Brett Calo dubbed Chef Ahn Sung-Jae's voice in Culinary Class Wars - a judge on the series. Per his website, when Calo isn’t dubbing the Korean show, he’s a budding actor, singer, casting director, and creator.

Calo is currently engaged in lending his voice for video games, among other projects including Culinary Class Wars.

Calo hails from the city of Los Angeles where he is currently pursuing a professional career in voice acting. He acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production from NYU Tisch.

During his time at NYU, Calo’s projects and assignments included short plays and movies which won prestigious college awards. Shortly after, he went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Acting from UCLA.

Apart from dubbing, Calo has expressed his desire to compose musical scores.

One of his most noteworthy laurels came at the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild One-Act Play Festival.

Calo’s career started as an actor in the theatre scene. His first acting gig came in 2016 when he played the character ‘Kulygin’ from Three Sisters in Los Angeles. He continued to appear in several plays such as The Visit (2017), Mary Stuart (2018), and The Sound of Music (2019).

Calo is currently signed with Encore Voices which has given him more opportunities to lend his voice to an array of shows apart from Culinary Class Wars.
