One of the most fascinating characters in Yellowjackets Season 1 was that of Adam Martin. Played by Peter Gadiot, Adam plays the role of a body shop worker and an aspiring artist who has an affair with Shauna.
Adam Martin first appeared in Yellowjackets Season 1 Episode 2 as a carefree artist who crossed paths with Shauna. Soon the confrontation turned into flirty talks between the two. In the span of a short time, Shauna starts dating Adam despite being married to Jeff Sadecki (Warren Kole), who was supposedly having an extramarital affair with Bianca.
However, things start turning sour between the two when Adam starts to reveal unknown events about Shauna's past. This turns into paranoia for Shauna, who brutally murders Adam in Yellowjackets Season 1 Episode 9, titled 'Doomcoming.'
Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the Showtime drama series is renewed for the third season. Yellowjackets Season 3 is all set to release on February 14, 2025, debuting two episodes. The plot involves dual time spaces where one is set in 1996 and the other around twenty years later in the present time. The story focuses on the plot of high school soccer students who get saved from a plane crash, while the other scenario shows the lives of survivors around twenty-five years after in present times.

In Yellowjackets Season 1, Adam Martin dies a tragic death at the hands of his lover Shauna. After engaging in a passionate affair with Shauna Shipman, Adam becomes a prime suspect who is blackmailing the survivors of the plane crash.
Shauna is convinced that Adam is a blackmailer, and so she confronts him in Season 1, Episode 9, 'Doomcoming.'. Overwhelmed with the entire scenario, Shauna brutally stabs Adam to death.
However, Shauna soon realizes that she should immediately hide Adam's body and so, with the help of Taissa, Misty, and Natalie, disposes of his body. Misty uses her expertise and ensures that all the evidence of Adam's murder is removed.
Shauna later learns that it was Jeff, her husband, who was blackmailing the survivors of the plane crash. Shauna makes her friends believe that it was Adam who was the blackmailer and not Jeff. In Season 2, Adam's murder continues to haunt Shauna while the authorities discover his remains.
Was Adam actually Javi in Yellowjackets?
Yellowjackets Season 1 ended with Adam's murder, which raised many fan theories. Among them, the most popular was that Adam Martin was Travis's younger brother, Javi Martinez, who survived the fatal plane crash.
This theory was fueled due to his mysterious background, his back tattoo, and his interest in Shauna. However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Jonathan Lisco revealed the fan theory. He said,
"We looked at the emotional and psychological arc of the story and we felt at the end that yes, it's a cute surprise and it might be good in the moment, but what's gonna haunt the audience more is if Shauna winds up killing someone who actually liked her, somebody who actually wanted to be with her and the reason she killed him was because of post traumatic stress"
Thus clearing the fact that Adam Martin is not Javi Martinez. He continued,
"To stay true to her story and the story in general, we had to let that twist go in service of the emotional and psychological story. And of course, our audience can debate whether or not that was a good move."
