HBO's hit series House of the Dragon Season 2 has finally initiated the beginning of The Dance of the Dragons, the most awaited civil war between the Targaryens. Before you delve deep into exploring the wild dragon in the fan-favorite intense drama, know there are spoilers ahead!

House of the Dragon Season 2 continues to intrigue fans with the Greens and the Blacks preparing to rip each other apart, which will undeniably change the entire landscape of the kingdom of Westeros. This cannot be done without the majestic, mythical, and intensely terrifying Dragons in the history of the Targaryens.

While the Greens and blacks are preparing to take over the Iron Throne, Rhaena Targaryen is sent to the Vale of Arryn. She's longing for a dragon companion and there's a possibility that Rhaena might find one of the three wild dragons (possibly Sheepstealer) that will play a pivotal role in The Dance of the Dragons.

In Season 2 Episode 6, Rhaena is seen walking around with Joffrey in the Vale of Arryn, when she discovers an expansive area of scorched Earth scattered with bones and remains of sheep. And this only hints at one of the wild dragons: Sheepstealer!

Now that fans and viewers are aware of the possible arrival of Sheepstealer in the Vale of Arryn, the bigger question is who will ride the huge and powerful dragon? The story in House of the Dragon isn't exactly how it's written in George R.R. Martin's book.

In House of the Dragon, Rhaena Targaryen mentions the remains of the sheep to Jeyne Arryn who tells her that the terrifying creature has been burning and eating up sheep in that area.

And if we consider R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood, the wild dragon who does all of this is none other than Sheepstealer.

In House of the Dragon, Rhaena is sent to the Vale of Arryn without a dragon, as she doesn't have one. The young fighter is waiting for an egg to hatch and give her a dragon to ride and contribute to the biggest war.

And this is where the story in the HBO series might get a twist if Rhaena Targaryen succeeds in claiming one of the three ruthless dragons. While the show didn't mention the name Sheepstealer, in the book, he's the one who steals and eats up the sheep.

So, it might be possible that Rhaena Targaryen will claim Sheepstealer, as he's the only claimable wild dragon who plays a significant part during The Dance of the Dragons.

What Will Happen in House of the Dragon if Rhaena Targaryen Claims Sheepstealer?

In Fire & Blood, the three wild dragons are the Grey Ghost, the Cannibal, and the Sheepstealer roaming in Dragonstone. However, Sheepstealer is the only wild dragon claimed by a young and brave girl Nettles, who bonds together and contributes to Rhaenyra's side in the war.

But in House of the Dragon Season 2, Nettles hasn't been introduced in the show, and possibilities of Sheepstealer's arrival have already emerged. And since Rhaena Targaryen is curious about the wild dragon at the Vale of Arryn, she might get to bond with Sheepstealer.

So, if Rhaena Targaryen bonds with Sheepstealer, the two will undeniably transform into two key figures during the Civil War over the Iron Throne, making Phoebe Campbell's Rhaena one of the titular characters in House of The Dragon.
