Marvel has returned to Disney+ with a new show called Agatha All Along. The miniseries is a spin-off of WandaVision. The series is built on the character of Agatha Harkness from the Marvel Comics.
Having previously played the role of Agatha/Agnes in WandaVision, Kathryn Hahn returns to reprise the role in Agatha All Along. With two episodes released on September 18, 2024, the series is available on Disney+. New episodes will be released weekly.
The show begins three years after WandaVision's climax. Agatha is still stuck in Westview, New Jersey as Agnes. Determined to get her powers back, she decides to walk the witch's road with a coven of her own. Little does she know that every member of the coven has unknown motives.

Is Wanda Maximoff dead in Agatha All Along?
Before we delve into it, let's take a look at how she and Agatha were connected. Wanda Maximoff, as The Scarlet Witch, went head to head with Agatha as the latter invaded Westview with a hex. Agatha was on a mission to steal The Scarlet Witch's powers but ended up losing her own.
In the first episode, "Seekest Thou The Road", we see Agatha still trapped in Westview's sitcom-like delusions created by Wanda. Agatha is stuck as Agnes and takes up the job of a police detective.
The first case she is assigned is of a Jon Doe, whose body is found in the woods and looks as if it came from nowhere. The body seems crushed by something massive and heavy. The physical features are scarlet hair and blackened fingers. You guessed it, it's Wanda Maximoff!
Keeping in mind that Wanda was crushed by the Darkhold castle, the first episode confirms that Wanda Maximoff is dead. This is further established when Agatha finds a slip from a library book called, Dialogue and Rhetoric: Known History of Learning and Debate by Andrew Ugo.
Agatha quickly realizes the first letters of the words in the book's name spell out the Darkhold and Ugo is an anagram of the mountain the Darkhold was created on. Agatha experiencing a change in reality and her becoming a detective further confirms the death of the Scarlet Witch. As the curse that Wanda put on Agnes weakens, she begins her quest to return to her true identity as a witch.
If you are someone who just doesn't buy this ending then you must still be wondering if Wanda is really dead? Marvel is known for resurrecting characters and she is a witch after all.
There is a way that Wanda could return via an alternate reality. The Scarlet Witch might make a comeback in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. When asked about Wanda's future, Elizabeth Olsen stated to FM104:
"It's a character that I love going back to when there's a way to use her well, and I think I have been lucky that when I started I was used well."
She further added:
"I think people didn't know what to do with me for a second there...if there's a good way to use her I'm always happy to come back."
What happened to Wanda Maximoff before Agatha All Along?
Prior to the events of Agatha All Along, Wanda Maximoff, grieving the loss of her loved ones, manipulated the town of Westview into a sitcom-like surreal reality. It is later revealed that Wanda was using chaos magic to turn the town and its people into what Wanda imagined as the perfect reality.
Agatha Harkness was a witch who was living under the disguise of Wanda's meddlesome neighbor, Agnes. She soon finds out that Wanda is the reason behind the town's TV-like reality. Agatha, whose true motive was to take over Wanda's powers realizes Wanda is actually the Scarlet Witch who is predestined to end the world.
Agatha fails to defeat Wanda and loses her powers on top of being cursed by Wanda to live Agnes' life forever. Soon after losing Westview, Wanda treads down a wicked path harnessing the powers of the Scarlet Witch by using the Darkhold.
After WandaVision, Wanda reappears in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She is shown to be wrapped up in the influence of the Darkhold. Wanda travels through countless realities in the multiverse to find her reality with Billy and Tommy. Billy and Tommy were the children Wanda had while living in Westview with Vision.
Upon finally finding the reality with Billy and Tommy, Wanda realizes her children are frightened by what she has become. Wanda then decides to destroy the Darkhold and all its copies to end its influence. The destruction of the Darkhold leads to Wanda being crushed under the castle which results in her demise.
