The Mallorca Files is a British police crime drama filmed on the beautiful island of Mallorca. It premiered on BBC One and began airing its first season on November 25, 2019. From season 3, you can watch the exciting 8-part series on Amazon Prime.

The Mallorca Files is about Detective Miranda Blake (Elen Rhys), a by-the-book kind of person, and her German partner Max Winter (Julian Looman), who trusts his gut and doesn't quite believe in following the rules. Ines Villegas (María Fernández Ache) teams up the two to solve crimes committed against the international community on Mallorca island.

A big part of the show's success is its unique Mallorcan setting, which gives British and German viewers a fresh perspective on the island. Almost the entire show has been filmed on the island of Mallorca.


Palma City

Many episodes of The Mallorca Files are filmed in and around Palma City, the capital of Mallorca, with a rich history spanning over 2000 years. Impressive landmarks such as the Gothic cathedral La Seu and the Bellver Castle can be found here.

Located by the sea, Palma City is deeply rooted in Mallorca's Moorish past, making it a place you can't help but fall in love with.


Aucanada Golf Course

Miranda is paired with Max after her mission to get a key witness out of the airport fails. The airport is attacked, and the witness is killed. Miranda and her partner search for more clues in Palma, where they come across the Aucanada Golf Course.

As its name suggests, Aucanada offers stunning views and the impressive Aucanada Lighthouse, which provides a memorable backdrop for The Mallorca Files. The area is also known for its great restaurants and golf course.


Rancho Grande Park

The largest horse ranch on the island of Mallorca is a must-see. It's also a popular tourist destination. If you watch episode six, "El Rancho Rey," you'll see it for yourself. Fans can get a glimpse of the largest horse ranch when Miranda and Max explore the trail around Puig de Massanella, the second-highest peak in Mallorca.


Es Salobrar de Campos

Part of the filming for The Mallorca Files took place in Es Salobrar de Campos, a wetland near Es Trenc in the southeast of the island. You can see this location in episode 5, season 2 of the series.


Porto Pi

In the episode "To Kill a Stag", a groom is murdered at his bachelor party in the pool of his mansion, right in front of Max and Miranda. The scene was filmed near the Casino de Mallorca in Porto Pi, where the two main characters investigate what happened. Porto Pi is a large shopping centre at the end of Palma's harbour.


The village of Arta

Max and Miranda head to a remote mountain village to uncover the truth about a missing person. There, they discover that the entire village belongs to the influential Gris family, who hold significant power and wealth.

This scene is from episode 2 of season 2, and it was filmed in the beautiful town of Arta, which is located on the northeast coast of Mallorca.


The Soller Train

Filming for "Number One Fan", episode 4 of season 1 of The Mallorca Files, happened on the famous The Soller Train. The story is about the main characters investigating a case where a German supermodel goes missing on the train.


Other locations like the vineyard and the road also make up the list when discussing filming locations. But it is not possible to list them all into just one.
