1) Los Angeles, California

The production uses various locations across LA. Some scenes capture the bustling life there while some capture the calm and scenic city views, all of which provide a beautiful backdrop to the story.

Even though most of the series is shot in Los Angeles, a major chunk of the outdoor scenes are also shot in Pasadena. The historic buildings and structures, lush greenery, and charming streets add more beauty to Shrinking, providing a welcoming and homely feel.

When Gabby gets her new Tesla, she is excited and drives through the 177 Colorado Intersection in Pasadena. Just a few minutes away is the Copa Vida coffee shop where Jimmy takes his antisocial patient to help him converse with people.


3) Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank

Shrinking has relied heavily on Warner Bros. Studios’ facilities in Burbank, California, especially for the indoor scenes. It goes without saying that this iconic studio has provided the backdrop for countless famous productions over the years.

Warner Bros. provides a versatile space for setups of all kinds. It has more than 30 sound stages. Jimmy's office and several other locations for elaborate scenes can be found in the studios.


4) Altadena, California

Altadena is a quiet suburban area located a bit north of Pasadena. The place complements the series’ storytelling. Charles S. Farnsworth Park at 568 Mount Curve Ave E in Altadena is where the Pickleball scenes are filmed.

Some of the residential scenes, including Jimmy’s Craftsman-style home, are filmed here. The exact address for the house is 1849 N Michigan Avenue, while Liz and Derek’s house can be found at 1859 N Michigan Avenue, both situated in Altadena. This small neighborhood brings about a sense of warmth to the series.


5) Central Park & Pete’s Blue Chip

Los Angeles County is the primary filming location for Shrinking. The local hangout spots often appear in the series. Many iconic places like Central Park and Pete’s Blue Chip are seen in the series’ backdrop.

Central Park makes for an ideal place for those lovely outdoor shots where Jimmy and his friends often meet to talk about life. The bench scene where Harrison Ford’s Dr. Paul Rhoades and Lukita Maxwell’s Alice have a heart-to-heart talk is filmed here. It offers a peaceful and scenic backdrop.
