Paradise was released on Hulu on January 28, 2025, and has been garnering praise from both critics and viewers. The thriller series follows a security service team who has been given the responsibility of keeping a former president safe.

The show has particularly gotten attention because of its zigzag-like narrative and unpredictable twists. Supported by a strong cast including Sterling K. Brown, Sarah Shahi, and Julianne Nicholson, the show has also been shot at great locations, which has further elevated the narrative.

Paradise was majorly shot in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Let us now explore the shooting locations of Paradise in detail and how those locations have helped in building the narrative.

Paradise Shooting Locations

Los Angeles, California

Los Angeles serves as the primary backdrop for Paradise and the show has made use of some iconic places there to capture the urban yet modern vibe that goes along with the theme.

The beginning of Paradise is set up largely in a house located at Holmby Hills as it is the place where Agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) keeps the United States President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) to keep him safe.

The Skirball Center is also featured in Paradise. A flashback shows Cal Bradford meeting Samantha Redmond (Julianne Nicholson) there and it also sets the premise for their relationship.

Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. served as the perfect location for grounding Paradise in its political themes. Essentially a political thriller, the show made use of iconic Washington, D.C. locations to elevate the storyline.

Locations in Washington, D.C. include The United States Capitol, The Washington Monument, and The White House. The Capitol has been used in the show to set up the major political conflicts that Paradise deals with. The White House has been shown as the home of former President Cal Bradford, which adds authenticity to the storyline.

More about Paradise

Paradise follows Xavier Collins, who is a single father of two children and serves as the Secret Service head of President Cal Bradford. The story kicks off with Collins discovering Bradford dead despite his attempts to keep him safe. However, though it seems like a big revelation, this is actually not the twist and it is only with the progression of episodes that the viewers are further drawn into this mazzy narrative.

Created by Dan Fogelman, Paradise is produced by Chris Nguyen-Gia. Sterling K. Brown, Glenn Ficarra, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Steve Beers, and John Requa serve as executive producers. As said by Fogelman, Paradise is

“a big piece of commercial entertainment that had a great story behind it, and some great actors, which they are, and to keep people guessing what’s going to happen next, without necessarily having to have a conversation about things.”

The show comprises 8 episodes and after premiering with the first episode on January 26, 2025, Hulu dropped two more episodes on January 28, 2025. From now on, new episodes will be released weekly, every Tuesday, and the finale is set to air on March 8, 2025.

While Paradise has not yet been renewed for a second season, Fogelman already has plans to make it a three-part series. As told by him to The Hollywood Reporter,

“I want to provide a complete meal by the end of the episode for the audience that’s invested. Any question that people have after the first couple of episodes should be answered at the end of the eighth episode. Then a new question and journey will start that takes us into the second season.”

With Paradise getting good reviews and impressive viewership, it now remains to be seen how the first season ends and if it will be back with a new installment.
