No Good Deed premiered on Netflix on December 12, 2024, and has received encouraging reviews due to its perfect blend of mystery, humor, and thrill. The dark comedy series follows three families racing against each other to buy a stunning Spanish-style villa built in the 1920s.
However, they are unaware of the secrets the house's current owners keep. At the center of the narrative is the Spanish villa that attracts the families and the audience from the beginning.
The eerie and mysterious atmosphere of the home located in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, along with its beautiful green exterior, only makes the narrative more engaging. So where exactly is the No Good Deed house located? Here are all the Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano starrer series filming locations.
Filming locations of Netflix’s No Good Deed
1) Hancock Park, Los Angeles
The better part of the show was shot in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The No Good Deed house is a real property located in this neighborhood. In the series, the Spanish-style villa is shown to be situated in Los Feliz, Hollywood, which is 20 minutes away from the real house.
However, the production team used this property to shoot only the exterior portions of the villa. The indoor scenes were shot at a set built in a studio. The team also made some changes to the property to suit the narrative, including adding greenery and tiles on the exterior.
Production designer Nina Ruscio revealed she was looking for a picturesque Spanish house in Los Angeles with a soul. The Hancock Park property was ideal for the series. She told in an interview with House Beautiful magazine:
“There's a finite number of Spanish houses, really, in the world, and there's a finite number of Spanish houses that are fabulous in Los Angeles. I wanted to find a house that felt like it had a soul.
And then we found that house literally situated on this picturesque corner with wings that really do reach out to you.”
The interior portion of the villa seen in No Good Deed has more space than the actual house as the makers built a set from scratch to suit the story’s needs. They added elements like kitchen appliances, a fireplace, and stained-glass windows to make the No Good Deed house look authentic.
2) Los Feliz, Los Angeles
Since the events of the show majorly take place in Los Feliz, the creators shot several sequences of the show on location in the neighborhood, showcasing its streets and houses. The region is known for its Spanish architecture and hiking trails.
Los Feliz is also renowned for its cafes, unique shops, and lively arts scene. Some famous spots in the neighborhood include the Vista Theater, a historical cinema hall; and Griffith Park, a vast municipal park featuring a zoo, a museum, and an observatory.
3) Angel's Point, Los Angeles
Angel’s Point, an urban park situated in the Elysian Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, can also be spotted in No Good Deed. It is the place where Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano’s characters, Lydia Morgan and Mikey Morgan, go for a picnic in the fifth episode.
4) Olvera Street, Los Angeles
Some passing shots in the show were filmed in Olvera Street, Los Angeles. Also known as Calle Olvera, it is a pedestrian street in downtown. Located near the Plaza de Los Ángeles, California’s oldest plaza, the street is lined with restaurants, shops, and historic buildings like the Ávila Adobe, LA’s oldest home.
5) Wilmington, Los Angeles
The Wilmington neighborhood of Los Angeles also served as a filming location for No Good Deed. Located in the South Bay and Harbor region, Wilmington is known for its oil field. The scenes involving soap opera star JD Campbell, played by Luke Wilson, were shot here, as he visits a harbor.
