Where is Mike Ross during the events of Suits LA? Speculations explored

Suits LA has kicked off with an intense pilot that received mixed reactions from the fans.

While the parent series, Suits, relied heavily on the bromance between Harvey Specter and Mike Ross, the spin-off took another turn, where Ted Black's partner betrayed him in the premiere episode.

Fans are still looking forward to how the story will proceed, especially since Gabriel Macht is set to reprise his character, Harvey in the upcoming episodes. This raises fans' questions about the whereabouts of Harvey's protege-turned-partner Mike and where he is during the events of the spin-off.

The last we heard of Mike (and his wife Rachel), they settled in Seattle and opened a small law firm. So, it is very likely that Mike is still in Seattle during Suits LA events and working on his firm with Harvey, Donna, and Rachel.

Exploring Mike's ending in Suits: Is he connected with Suits LA?

Mike Ross is not connected to Suits LA in any way as he did not have any ties with Los Angeles. Moreover, he also had no connection with any characters from the spin-off.

Patrick J. Adams' Mike left Suits in Season 7, after which he moved to Seattle with his wife Rachel and opened his own small firm. However, he returned in Season 9 for three episodes and the series finale finally reunited Harvey and Mike.

The Suits finale had two surprises in store for the audience- Harvey surprises Donna by proposing to her, and the two get married. And, Harvey reveals his decision to move to Seattle with Donna and reunite with Mike and Rachel.

Since we have no news about the couple after Suits ended, it is very likely that Mike is still living in Seattle, working on his small firm, and will thus not appear in the spin-off.

When asked if Mike and Rachel would still be together in an interview with TVLine, Adams noted:

''Of course they are. Or at least I hope so. That will be the interesting thing, if we can get Mike back in the fold somehow. I guess we’ll figure out how it’s going [with Rachel] — or if it’s going.”

Can Harvey's storyline also introduce Mike in Suits LA?

While Adams might not appear in Suits LA, his co-star Macht is confirmed to appear in a three-episode arc as Harvey. The spin-off established a past connection with its parent series by making their protagonists work together in New York 15 years ago.

Since the spin-off's pilot introduced a ton of problems for Ted Black, he will be saved by his old friend and the 'best closer' Harvey. Harvey and Ted go way back, so it is likely that Mike does not know Ted and that Harvey will visit LA alone. While Mike handles their business in Seattle, Harvey will rescue Ted in LA.

Since Harvey Specter is a fan-favorite character, it is presumed that fans will love seeing him back on-screen in Suits LA. And if everything goes well, he might stay for more episodes, in which case, Mike might also fly down to help him out.

While Adams is not confirmed to appear in Suits LA, he noted that he is 'always available' in an interview with MovieWeb:

''I feel very much in the family of the show. So if it makes sense, and we find some story that's worth telling, then I'm always available. But, you know, we're putting no pressure on them by any means."
