Landman, the newest offering from Paramount+ shows the fierce competition between different groups as they fight to make money and also make a name for themselves from the West Texas oil boom.

The series focuses on Tommy Norris as he does his best to manage Monty Miller’s oil company, while they both deal with their personal lives as well. The podcast named Boomtown served as the inspiration behind Landman and the show was created by Taylor Sheridan of Tulsa King and Yellowstone fame.

The show was filmed predominantly in Texas to make the setting as authentic as possible. Let us now explore in detail the filming locations of Landman.

List of all filming locations for Landman

American Association of Professional Landmen Headquarters - Fort Worth, Texas

The real American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) headquarters, located in Fort Worth, has been used in Landman. The AAPL is the organization behind uniting the landmen like Tommy Norris across the US and also encourages the use of natural resources.

Since the real counterparts of the main characters like Norris or Miller were involved in the AAPL, it is only natural for Landman to use this location to maintain the authenticity of the show.

Ratliff Stadium - Odessa, Texas

Ratliff Stadium features in the very first episode of Landman when Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) and her boyfriend, Dakota Loving (Drake Rodger) are taken there by Norris after he picks them up.

However, upon reaching there, Norris finds it difficult to handle the situation. He tries to distract himself as it gets too embarrassing for him to learn about his daughter’s sex life.

Texas Christian University - Fort Worth, Texas

Texas Christian University (TCU) is another key location in Landman that appears throughout the series. It is a private university, situated in Fort Worth, Texas and has a large and beautiful campus.

It is another great filming location as it helps depict the college life of Gracie Miller. In episode 2 the university’s field stadium and track can be seen where Monty Miller comes to attend Gracie’s track meet.

Similar to the other filming locations. TCU also helps ground the show in reality.

Fort Worth Petroleum Club

Landman features the real Fort Worth Petroleum Club. One of Fort Worth’s oldest private clubs, the Fort Worth Petroleum Club was established in 1953 and serves members from various industries.

Since the club was originally built for wealthy members belonging to the oil industry, it is only natural for Landman to choose this location as one of their filming points. The club is featured in the very first episode of the show where Monty Miller attends a lunch with other executives of the oil industry.

Though the function of this meeting is similar to the ones held at the AAPL headquarters, the setting serves as a reminder to the massive difference that exists between the show’s characters who actually handle the oil rigs and the wealthy people who do not want to get themselves involved with the lowly workers.

Landman Season 1 Episodes 1-3 can be streamed on Paramount+ with new episodes dropping every Sunday.
