Sheldon was living in the apartment 4A, which was on the 4th floor of the building. In the beginning, Sheldon was seen living with a character going by the name of Sebastian. It was during the twenty-second episode of season 3 when it was revealed that before Leonard, it was Sheldon and Sebastian who lived in the apartment.

In the same episode it was revealed that after Sebastian, Leonard became Sheldon’s roommate back in 2003. As the series continues we see Penny, who becomes Leonard’s girlfriend and later his wife, living in the apartment for a few seasons. It was after Leonard and Penny's marriage that Sheldon decided to move into Penny's old apartment 4B in the same building. Sheldon moves into the room with his girlfriend Amy and continues to live in the apartment till the end of the series.
