Deceitful Love is Netflix’s newest steamy Italian love story, breaking stereotypes with the age barrier relationship. The Italian drama follows the story of a wealthy 60-year-old woman, Gabriella (played by Monica Guerritore), living happily in her luxe abode by the Amalfi coast in Italy. With not much to do, she spends most of her time at home alone despite all that money.
Her life takes an electric turn after a handsome hunk, Elia (played by Giacomo Gianniotti), far younger than her, enters her world. While they both appear infatuated with each other and spend as much romantic time as possible, her family gets suspicious about his intent.
While there’s no doubt he could genuinely be in love, her family can’t help but ponder the real identity and reason he’s with Gabriella. Is his love a ruse for money, or is a deeper game afoot? Thus far, the storyline is gripping everyone’s attention on the OTT.
Apart from the plot, the series presents some ethereal locations across Italy that will take your breath away! Take a look at the filming locations of Deceitful Love, which you may want to put on your bucket list for your next holiday!
A complete list of all the filming locations in Italy from Netflix's Deceitful Love
1) Amalfi coast, Southern Italy
A major portion of Deceitful Love has been shot across the gorgeous UNESCO-listed Amalfi Coast, situated in a quaint part of Southern Italy. The location is known for its breathtaking blue coast, followed by sunset and islands in view. Furthermore, its location between the land and the sea makes it all the more appealing.
The coast was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997 and continues to live up to the hype. Apart from being featured on the Netflix series, this is also where DC’s Wonder Woman was filmed. Several scenes from the show capture the scenic beauty of the Amalfi coast and one of its 13 villages, Positano.
2) Naples
Naples has remained a popular destination worldwide for several Hollywood bigwigs who come there to unwind—in a way, it's the heart of Italy. Deceitful Love primarily features an array of shots from Naples that capture the architecture and vibrant aura of the place.
Apart from being the birthplace of the iconic yet humble and scrumptious pizza, Naples is famous for its art, churches, engaging markets, and historic landmarks, including the catacombs, a prominent attraction in Paris. Nevertheless, with several scenes centered around exploring the coast, they simply had to include Naples in the Netflix series.
3) Bacoli
Bacoli is a small town situated slightly away from Naples. It is primarily known for its stunning and vivid homes across the coastline, which make you wish you’d live there. Bacoli is roughly 15 kilometers from the aforementioned place, and like Amalfi itself, a handful of shots were filmed at this prime location.
The Romans initially occupied Bacoli, where you can encounter ancient Roman artifacts and structures. Similarly, its history-rich sites, including the first Greek settlement in Italy, can also be seen here.
4) Miseno
Several prominent scenes from Deceitful Love were shot in Miseno, including a conversation between Gabriella and Elia. Miseno is actually a cape - an extension of a particular landmass, including an island. Not much is known about the serene location except that it played a profound role in history for the Romans.
Cape Miseno was a haven for the imperial soldiers, providing them with a place to rest, train, and rejuvenate. It is also greatly referenced in mythology during a battle between Triton and Misenus, the master of the sea horn and presumably the person the cape is named after.
