Deal or No Deal Island is a spin-off of the popular NBC game show Deal or No Deal. Host Joe Manganiello and the show's contestants are taken off to a private island owned by someone called the "Banker". On that private island, the contestants are thrown into a game show that mixes Survivor with Deal or No Deal. At the same time, they have to figure out the identity of the "Banker".

The contestants are forced to compete in exhausting activities for briefcases. Inside each one of them is a value that will later serve as a number in the nightly game of "Deal or No Deal". Where was Deal or No Deal Island filmed?

Deal or No Deal Island shook up the Deal or No Deal franchise but also enabled the show to increase the stakes. The makers did so by testing the contestants' physical and mental fitness and agility. Excited, fans of the show are wondering Where was Deal or No Deal Island filmed. As of now, the makers have not revealed the location, but a season one contestant confirmed the filming spot.

Season 1 contestant "Boston" Rob Mariano revealed the filming location in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on February 26, 2024. Rob had previously participated in Survivor six different times, which was also filmed in Panama, like Deal or No Deal Island. Mariano said:

"No, we're near Bocas del Toro. Listen to me: This was the Banker’s private island. It was the Five Seasons —like the Four Seasons, but one better. Some people were complaining about the elements, and I was like, “These kids have no idea!” We were in a tent, we had a fan, we had food. Dalton, the first day someone handed me a cold bottle of water out there! I felt like I was doing something dirty. It was awesome."

He was not the only one who had anything to say about the filming location. Host Joe Manganiello spoke about the revamped campsite. He also revealed that the second aims to catch every contestant off-guard at every turn by refurbishing the island. Had this to say about the renovation:

"The Banker's made some exciting improvements".

Manganiello also teased contestants and viewers by saying that the accommodations in this season's island effortlessly blend the ruggedness of the wilderness with luxury. He assured that the banker left no stone unturned for the accommodations by saying:

"This year, the banker has spared no expense".

The host while talking about the jaw-dropping stunning pavilion said:

"These areas are where the guests are going to hang out at night, chop it up. Talk about what happened that day".

What is Deal or No Deal Island about?

In Deal or No Deal Island, thirteen contestants and hosts are taken to a private island belonging to the "Banker". On that island, they engage in activities designed to test them mentally and physically to get a briefcase with a number. Anyone who has the highest-value briefcase or briefcases can select the players who are eliminated and those who can continue.

The "Deal or No Deal" will either make or break a contestant. A player has to leave the show in case they accept a deal worth less than their briefcase. However, if a player accepts a good deal that is of a higher value than in their case, they gain the power to choose who goes and who can continue to play. The synopsis for the show reads:

"Bigger twists. Bigger money. With over $200 million at stake, the iconic game is back - but this time, host Joe Manganiello is joined by an all-new Banker! Thirteen players are invited to stay in paradise, where they’ll face tough challenges, cutthroat strategy and all-star competitors… all leading up to the ultimate game of “Deal or No Deal” for a shot at a record-breaking prize."
