Your Friends And Neighbors is a recently released dramatic comedy on Apple TV+. Your Friends And Neighbors stars Jon Hamm in the leading role of Coop, a former hedge fund manager who has been fired and has to consequently resort to stealing from his friends and neighbors in order to sustain himself. Your Friends And Neighbors has dropped three episodes as of now and has already garnered audience admiration and generally positive reviews.
Therefore, it is no wonder that creator Jonathan Tropper is already working on the second season of the Apple TV+ show, which is expected to go into production very soon.
What did Jonatha Tropper say about the second season of Your Friends And Neighbors?
Speaking in an interview with Cinemablend, creator Jonathan Tropper revealed that work was already underway for the second season of the Apple TV+ show. He remarked:
"We're very far. We're well ahead in that process. We've got eight scripts written, and we're looking to go into production very soon, like frighteningly soon."
He was then asked about whether he and the rest of the production team had taken any notes from the reception of the debut set of episodes, to which Tropper answered:
"In terms of lessons, I think we just learned really where we have to safeguard the tone of the show, and how carefully we have to watch out, that we never veer too far comedic, too far dramatic, that we really maintain that really careful line we're maintaining of a comedic drama or a dramatic comedy, that puts the characters first. And I think, in post production, we may have found a few places we had to clean up a little bit with the tone, and that's the thing we're really going to watch."
As of now there isn't an official release window for the second season of the show. However, we are hopeful that news in this direction would be made available soon.
Jon Hamm opens up about his role on Your Friends And Neighbors
The Apple TV+ show marks the first time that Hamm has taken up a leading role after his fantastic portrayal of ad agency executive Don Draper on Mad Men. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Forbes magazine, Hamm reflected at length on the Apple TV+ show. When asked about the way the show utilizes music, Hamm commented:
"It wasn't in the script, I've only really worked with one person who baked in musical cues, and that was Edgar Wright on Baby Driver, but Jonathan has a tremendous ear for all of this. It's part of what makes him a gifted storyteller and a really wonderful filmmaker. Honestly, those things are his, the music supervisors and the composer's world, and all of those things you're right to point out because they serve to make the environment much more lush and profound and rich in its experience."
He was then asked about the renewal of the show, to which he replied:
"Somebody saw it at Apple and liked what they were seeing, but yes, it's a wonderful honor. It is a tremendous vote of confidence, obviously, and honestly, they've never done it before, so we were the first one. It's a tremendous feather in our cap. It means we're doing something right. I've started to read the scripts, and I think I'm on number eight of ten for season two, and I'm thrilled at where the story is going."
Your Friends And Neighbors is exclusively available on Apple TV+.
