The upcoming season of the historical drama, also known as The Chosen: The Last Supper, will delve into the intense events leading to Jesus's Last Supper, the betrayal, and the crucifixion. The season consists of eight episodes and will follow a four-week release schedule for the theatres.
The theatrical release dates of the three parts of The Chosen Season 5 are March 28, April 4, and April 11, respectively. The Chosen Season 5 will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in June 2025. As per the official website, the upcoming season will also be available for streaming on the Chosen app later this year.
Previously, in 2025, Amazon Prime Video had secured the exclusive rights for the popular historical drama, The Chosen. Along with season 5, the previous four seasons and the upcoming ones will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
The Chosen Season 4, Episode 8 premiered on June 30, 2024, and it showed Jesus's last day in Bethany and his journey toward Jerusalem for Passover. This upcoming season will delve into the aftermath of Jesus' triumphant entry to Jerusalem(Palm Sunday), Judas's betrayal, and his arrest shortly after The Last Supper in the Garden of Gethsemane (the night of Maundy Thursday), leading to Good Friday.

For its theatrical release, The Chosen Season 5 is all set to premiere in three parts. The first part of the series consists of two episodes that were released on March 28, 2025, in U.S and Canadian theatres. The second part, which includes the following three episodes (Episodes 3,4, and 5), will hit the theatres on April 4, 2025. Following a similar pattern, the final part, consisting of the remaining three episodes (Episodes 6,7, and 8), will be released on April 11, 2025. For those who are outside the U.S and Canada, only parts 1 and 2 of The Chosen Season 5 will be released in theatres.

The synopsis of The Chosen Season 5 reads,
"The people of Israel welcome Jesus as king while his disciples anticipate his crowning. But-instead of confronting Rome-he turns tables on the Jewish religious festival. Their power threatened, the country's religious and political leaders will go to any length to ensure this Passover meal is Jesus's last."
Thus, the plot of The Chosen Season 5 will show the aftermath of Jesus' entering Jerusalem for the Holy Week. It will feature Jesus' confrontation with the corrupted religious leaders and the conspiracy against him. The season will end with The Last Supper, Judas' betrayal leading to Jesus' arrest.
