Netflix's popular survival series Outlast Season 2 will return on September 4, 2024. The platform will premiere the show with six episodes, followed by two final episodes on September 11, a week later.
The show's second season will start with all 16 participants getting airdropped in the Alaskan wilderness. Their primary goal is to stay in the game through extreme weather conditions and freezing temperatures. There will be days when competitors might have little to no food and minimal supplies.
16 competitors are instructed to follow one rule: being part of the team. Ultimate survivors who stay in the game until the end will receive $1 million in prize money. Participants from diverse backgrounds will participate in Netflix's upcoming survival series, including thru-hikers, rocket scientists, Air Force veterans, professional trappers, hunters, and more.

Outlast Season 2 will be released in the US on September 4, 2024. The second season of the survival competition show will air exclusively on Netflix. Outlast Season 2 trailer
The Outlast Season 2 trailer is full of wilderness, extreme temperatures, participants stealing supplies from the opponent team's tents, and more. The trailer starts with a player feeling trapped in the middle of the lake and describes it as life-threatening. Another clip shows a player assessing whether hypothermia is setting in.
The peak of the competition is one of the players blacking out, as seen in the trailer. One of the survivors, Tre, explained the competition at that point as a life-or-death situation.
Some players can also be seen trashing the opponent's camp to stay longer in the game. One of the players described the situation, saying,
Somethings you got to be the bad guy, that’s the game - if you weren’t prepared, that’s not our fault.
Outlast Season 2 rules
Fans of the show must know that the debut season featured four teams. Following the first season's format, the second season will feature four teams: Alpha Camp, Bravo Camp, Charlie Camp, and Delta Camp.
The competition will start with four players in each team. However, later in the game, competitors can change their team and choose to move to another team. Additionally, participants can approach other team members and get the stronger player in their squad to survive for longer.
The participants will have one day to form new teams, or else they will forfeit. Players who wish to quit are free to do so. To do so, they need to shoot a flare in the sky. If any participant is too sick or needs medical attention, they must quit the show and get treatment.
The champion is the team that survives until the end and wins the final challenge.
