When will Hilary Swank appear in Yellowjackets? Details, explored

Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 8 'A Normal, Boring Life' is all set to release on Friday, March 28, 2025, at midnight ET on Paramount+. The upcoming episode promo teases a new character in the psychological thriller series and it's played by none other than Boys Don't Cry actress Hilary Swank.

In a report by Deadline, it was revealed in September 2024 that the two-time Academy Award winner has been cast for a recurring guest role in Yellowjackets Season 3. Viewers have been waiting for Swank's character reveal since Yellowjackets Season 3 debuted on February 14, 2025. Fans can rejoice now as the wait is finally over!

In the first look of the season, viewers got a sneak peek of an injured and terrified Swank beside a black car when she murmured, 'Oh sh**' and ran away. Hilary Swank's character was finally teased in the intense promo of Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 8. Swank's character was seen confronting someone as she uttered,

"Does she know what you did? What you are capable of?"

With her character still under wraps, several mysteries need to be addressed in the upcoming episode. Is Swank's character the blackmailer who threatened the adult survivors? Is she the one who killed adult Lottie as shown in Season 3 Episode 4?

However, adult Shauna has turned her revenge mode on. In the previous episodes, Shauna was haunted and blackmailed by a recording tape that sounded like the Yellowjackets looking for their target in the wilderness. Shauna stated,

"I am gonna sit her down and have a gentle reasonable conversation with her."

Even though several fan theories suggested that Swank was roped in to play adult Melissa or Hannah's daughter Alex, as both had reasons to stalk Shauna. The credits at the end of Episode 7 stated that How to Die Alone alum Jaylee Hamidi was cast to play Alex. Thus leaving viewers to guess Swank's role in Yellowjackets, is she adult Melissa, Hannah's relative, her sister? There are several questions left to be answered in the upcoming episodes.

Hilary Swank opens up about being a part of Yellowjackets Season 3

In an interview with Today with Jenna & Friends, when asked whether she had seen Yellowjackets previously, Swank said,

"No, I haven't watched it because it's too intense.This is my first time going back to work and I feel like I am kind of a master manifester so I have said to the universe that I am ready to go back to work but I don't want to relocate and I only wanna work three days a week and I don't wanna be away from my babies. "

Swank continued how her wishes came true when she was offered a role in Yellowjackets that did not require her to relocate. However, she did not reveal the details of her character. She said,

"And sure enough, I get Yellowjackets calls like two weeks later, I don't have to relocate and I can stay at my own home and three days of work a week."

Swank revealed that Yellowjackets was too gritty for her to watch but she enjoyed filming for the series. She even FaceTimed her kids in her intense Yellowjackets' character look.
