Based on Janette Oke's Canadian West book series, When Calls the Heart Season 12 is a beloved Western drama. Premiered in 2014, the show has completed twelve triumphant seasons, and the story isn't over yet.

The show has been greenlit for another chapter scheduled to come out in 2026. Following this exciting update, Hallmark Media's Senior Vice President, Programming Samantha DiPippo shared (via Deadline):

"Hearties are far more than a fan base — they are a connected community, as loyal and supportive as the characters of Hope Valley."

DiPippo continued:

"It is an honor to tell stories of hope, resilience, humor and romance that continue to resonate with millions of viewers for twelve seasons and beyond."

The Hallmark drama is set in early 20th-century Western Canada, where it follows the trials and triumphs of the people in a small frontier town. The drama revolves around Elizabeth Thatcher, a young and courageous woman from a rich family who finds solace in teaching others.

Elizabeth grew up in a city but gradually learned to adapt to the harsh realities of frontier life in the 1910s. Initially, the town was named Coal Valley but after the residents embraced a fresh start and new beginning, it was renamed Hope Valley.

By When Calls the Heart Season 12, Elizabeth experiences a blossoming romance with Mountie Nathan Grant as the two have mutual feelings. However, this doesn't mean that the couple won't encounter problems.
