Does Laszlo have daddy issues with his father in What We Do in The Shadows?

Yes, Laszlo does have daddy issues in Season 6 Episode 6 of What We Do in The Shadows. No one was more in awe of Cravenworth’s ghostly appearance than his own son! Without a greeting, Laszlo decides to leave the room while his father nonchalantly mingles with the rest of the vampire crew.

Laszlo senior delighted in spanking his son occasionally despite the pain and took pleasure in it per his son! Moreover, Laszlo felt like his father never truly understood the depth of his love and lacked father-like qualities throughout his childhood, resulting in a falling out between them.

Laszlo wanted to thwart his father’s plans to return to the world of the living and hence created a spirit catcher for the same. Lord Cravensworth might have his own peculiarities including incessant flirting and wanting to truly feel all the pleasures of being a human.

While the rest of the coven thought it normal, Laszlo knew something didn’t sit quite right about his dad’s demeanor even as a ghost. The vampire recalled the times his father would dish out compliments or good behavior when he had ulterior motives.

To test his theory, he decides to make a ghost-catching device from his wife Nadja’s clothes among other paraphernalia. His father’s ghost was amid a conversation with his daughter-in-law and her doll when Laszlo intervenes to reveal the invention.

While Lord Cravensworth appeared impressed, he vanished without a trace before his son could give him a test run of the device and capture him for good. Nevertheless, his efforts to capture his dad prove futile after the duo end up having a heart-to-heart, but not for long.

What was Laszlo's dad's ultimatum in Season 6 Episode 6 of What We Do in The Shadows?

As mentioned earlier, Laszlo’s father wanted to return to the living realm, where he could feed his insatiable desires. During the climax of the episode, the father-son duo were enjoying themselves exploring the city, exchanging information about Cravensworth’s Monster in the lab.

However, during this aforementioned heart-to-heart - before sharing a hug, Laszlo uncovers the Book of Souls, and a few pages are left open to study on a counter.

He immediately confronts his dad about his ultimatum for haunting him and answering his wife’s summon as a ghost. Lord Cravensworth revealed he wanted to possess Laszlo so that he could live vicariously via his son’s body.

Before his son could protest, his father begins the ritual and renders his son restrained - readying him for possession. In the nick of time, Cravensworth’s monster whips out the spirit-catching machine and that was the last Lord Cravensworth was seen thus far.

The duo managed to imprison the ghost in a glass jar, leaving Laszlo with many thoughts about the aftermath - he doesn’t reveal anything about this encounter with his wife or the rest of the coven.

Was Nancy a shapeshifter in Season 6 Episode 6 of What We Do in The Shadows?

Yes, Nancy is confirmed to be a shapeshifter at the end of Season 6 episode 6 of What We Do in The Shadows after she turns into a possum. Apart from the drama between Laszlo and his dad’s ghost, Nadja and Nandor were on a quest to uncover the truth behind their new neighbors.

The duo strongly believed she was a shapeshifter who ran (to quote Nadja) an ‘Air-P-P-P.’ After effectively spying on the property, she shows up at their door, Nancy’s response leaves Nadja and Nandor perplexed.

Their neighbor claimed the property she hosted for a local bed and breakfast was illegal and feared she’d be reported by the vigilant duo. After negotiations, Nancy agreed to let Nadja and Nandor spend time free of cost at the place every month in exchange for their silence. Little do they know they were absolutely spot on about their guess!
