Apple TV+ is bringing out an array of interesting television content in May that will keep you hooked on to the streaming platform. With high quality production, brilliant stories and star-studded ensemble casts, Apple TV+ will be delivering some of its best content yet.

In the upcoming month, we have Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's adventure series Long Way Home, Alexander Skarsgård in Murderbot, John Krasinski and Natalie Portman's Fountain of Youth, and documentaries Bono: Stories of Surrender and Deaf President Now!


Apple TV+ shows to watch out for in May 2025

Long Way Home

Date of Release - May 9, 2025

Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman are back on their motorcycles on the new season of Long Way Home. The show will follow McGregor and Boorman as they take the road on refurbished vintage motorbikes and travel from McGregor’s home in Scotland to Boorman’s home in England. They go across the North Sea to Scandinavia, the Arctic Circle, and the Baltic. The adventure takes them to more than fifteen countries. With picturesque scenery and great personal stories, the season will comprise ten episodes in total.

The Emmy Award-winning series is executive produced by McGregor, Boorman, David Alexanian, and Russ Malkin. The hit adventure series first premiered in 2004 with Long Way Round, followed by Long Way Down and Long Way Up.

The official synopsis for Long Way Home states:

“Best friends Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman gear up for their fourth Long Way series – this time going from Ewan’s home in Scotland to Charley’s in England. They’ll take the scenic route, of course, through 17 European countries on cranky old bikes.”

Murderbot

Date of release - May 16, 2025

With Alexander Skarsgård in the lead, Murderbot is one of the more anticipated shows coming up on Apple TV+. Murderbot follows the story of a partly biological robot who works as security. It is intrigued by human emotions and must hide its free will. The show will comprises of 10 episodes and will premiere with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes airing every Friday.

The sci-fi action series is created by Chris and Paul Weitz, with Skarsgård serving as an executive producer. The series is based on the award-winning bestseller book The Murderbot Diaries, written by Martha Wells. The cast for Murderbot includes David Dastmalchian, Noma Dumezweni, Tattiawna Jones, Akshay Khanna, and Sabrina Wu, among others. The show is produced by Paramount Television Studios.

The official synopsis for Murderbot states:

“In a high-tech future, a rogue security robot (Alexander Skarsgård) secretly gains free will. To stay hidden, it reluctantly joins a new mission protecting scientists on a dangerous planet…even though it just wants to binge soap operas.”
