The other Hargreeves siblings try to stop Ben, but he doesn't listen and finds a girl inside that container, who is revealed to be Jennifer in the fourth season. Since they were recalling their memory of Ben's death, they found out that Jennifer had Durango inside her, and almost came in contact with Ben.
This could have caused the biggest apocalypse, but Reginald Hargreeves reached on time and shot Ben and Jennifer. He did this to save the original timeline from the possible destruction.
How did Jennifer meet Ben in The Umbrella Academy season 4?
Despite being killed in the original world, Jennifer was alive in other timelines. However, she was kept in an unusual town, where each resident was armed and protective of her.
In The Umbrella Academy season 4, The Umbrellas search for Jennifer, and Ben finally meets her in a restaurant. The two gradually caught feelings for each other and came in contact.
However, the moment Jennifer's Durango and Ben's Marigold merged, they transformed into a scary creature, who started destroying the world. The only way to stop them was the extinction of the Hargreeves siblings, and they all sacrificed themselves in the last episode of The Umbrella Academy season 4.
Following their disappearance from each timeline, the world got back to the original timeline, and nothing unusual happened. In the credit scenes of the series, we see eight beautiful Marigolds blooming in a park, possibly hinting at the essence of the Umbrellas and Lila.
