What to expect from The Last of Us Season 2?
In the first season, we were introduced to the apocalyptic world of The Last of Us, where a deadly mutated fungus called Cordyceps turns humans into zombie-like beings. Joel, who has faced several personal losses during the pandemic, is seen surviving the new world through any means possible. He is hired to transport a young girl called Ellie to a hospital because she is immune.
As they journey through the unpredictable world, they meet other survivors and are put in dire situations that they must overcome. The two of them form a deep bond. At the end, Joel makes a decision that may not sit well with Ellie.
Season 2 is set five years later, where we find Joel and Ellie dealing with the aftermath of his decision. The official logline of the show states,
“Season 2 of The Last of Us picks up five years after the events of Season 1. Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”
